Word For The Day, Monday, 7/26/10
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
BRUIT; verb (used with object) 1. to voice abroad; rumor (used chiefly in the passive and often fol. by about ): The report was bruited through the village. noun 2. Medicine/Medical . any generally abnormal sound or murmur heard on auscultation. 3. Archaic . rumor; report. 4. Archaic . noise; din; clamor
Etymology:From Middle English, noise , from Old French, past participle of bruire , to roar , from Vulgar Latin *brūgīre (blend of Latin rūgīre and Vulgar Latin *bragere , to bray , of Celtic origin ).]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I was awake waiting for a decent hour to get out of bed.
i wasn’t awake voluntarily, i was brutally awakened by the alarm. but am bright eyed and bushy tailed nonetheless. had houseguests all weekend, they are leaving this AM. my niece and her hub. It was fun to have them.

The administration strongly condemns the wikileaks publication of classified information that damages US national security. It is strange that they were so much less vocal in condemnation of similar leaks when they thought the leaks reflected poorly on President Bush.
