Give me some positives... Please.

Gosh, the last two years I have been calling Congress, Senators, going to Tea Parties, Went to DC many times, Town Halls, Blogs and web sites trying to defend and preserve our freedom and liberty. I have been feeling pretty good until the HCR bill. I remember driving back from DC feeling exhausted and actually named the photo folder "last day of freedom". However, then a few days later it passed I was a tad down then bounced back. Then it has been one bill after another and one setback after another. I seem to be running out of energy... praying, fasting, family, work and then helping to preserve freedom in my spare time. People, I need some positives right now and some encouragement as I am feeling very discouraged. We have been praying daily for this country, but it seems to get worse at breakneck speeds. Please, what do you do to keep focused and not discouraged. What positives do you all see?

The thought of “President Palin” works for me.

Count your many blessings, count them one by one. No matter how discouraged you may be, understand this is God’s plan. We may not understand or comprehend the reasons, so when you become discouraged, leave it in his hands.

Bottom line, it’s your vote that really counts. “The Movement” is only a means to that end. Do what you can to help, but remember, we all have to learn to “toughen up” and lower our personal expectations.

We have a “Revolution” built into our Constitution....elections every two years. Remember November.

If you are praying earnestly, you should be grateful for every day that you get to live for the Lord. As bad as politics may get, I live in awe of the blessings that have been bestowed on me.

I was thinking about Orwell’s “1984” and thinking he missed it by about 25 years.

Then I figured Reagan probably set back the communist coup about 25 years.

And I thought about the effect we could have from another strong figure who “gets it” like Reagan did. I immediately thought of Sarah Palin and smiled.

We need to encourage and embolden our leaders to make the stands that America needs - regardless of how the dying, lying media mocks and slanders them.

The vote in Missouri should be a shot heard around the nation.

lolol.

Thank God for you.

I’m so proud of Arizona and so proud of Missouri.

Like I was proud of Massachusetts back when we thought that having filibuster power could actually stop the train wreck in progress.

I think each state is saying to each other state: HOLD THAT LINE!!

This is the last year the Huskers will be playing Missouri in football but there’s one Husker here who feels as much kinship with y’all over this quarterback sack you pulled as if it was done by Ndomikung Suh himself - because we ARE on the same team when it comes to the most important stuff.

You done good, Missouri, and I’m cheering loudly on your team!!

Thanks for that.... Children can really put things into perspective at times. Their humble innocence always amazes me.

Thank you all... BTW, I took a nice quiet lunch and while listening to “Rush” as I was parked in a quiet part of a nearby park, I began to pray. It was a release and I found myself praying in Tongues... I have not done that in 5-6 years? I felt God’s presence and I always forget that the closer we come to God the harder the devil will try to separate us from him.

Just one of those days I guess and thanks for the humor along with your wisdom. Good to know that you’re not alone....

Read most of the political posts on this site during late December, January, and February.

They'll make you feel lots better!

Unfortunately, most of the unbounded joy, optimism, and unfounded predictions have been much minimized....or are dead.

And it seems as if the trend is continuing.

Classical political cases (that will be taught in liberal colleges for ages to come) of "peaking far too soon" and "there's a sucker born every minute".

Such a shame....

Obama's approval is falling off the table.

Ah....hate to disappoint/disillusion you, but no, it's not.

It has held steady between 42% and 47% for the last six months or so....during the time when the clown was at his most vulnerable.

No....his "strongly approve" rating, while less than 50%, isn't dipping seriously at all.

For it to show a real decline, it would have to go to 25% to 30% and stay there for at least six months to a year to indicate any trend at all.

For giggles, go look up GWs "strongly approve" rating for his last six months in office....it might be just the thing to show you the real difference.

“We’re all a bit burned out, but we need to stay engaged, stay positive, stay non-violent.”

That probably isn’t going to work this time. I’m not directly advocating, but part of being conservative is to see reality as it is.

Non-violence doesn’t work very well when the other side has firepower and the determination to use it to quell opposition. And reconciliation becomes impossible when two sides have drifted so far apart as to have become ideological enemies, each of whom sees the other’s core philosophies as poison to their own natures.

Some years ago, while talking with a friend, he made a comment I still remember.

I made mention of the Amish’s ability to live outside the system if need be. He replied that they are only able to live like that because we permit them to.

His payoff line:
“How do you think the Amish would have fared against the Nazis?

This is a big ship, but it’s sinkin’ all the same. And close to half of the souls on board seem to want it to go in EXACTLY the direction it’s going — down.

We have two choices that I can see:
1. Hang onto our part of the ship and go down with ‘em, or...
2. Break off the stern, and let the bow sink along with the corrupt crew up on the bridge.

At some point _in the past_, it might have been possible to patch the leaks and save the entire ship. But not now — too much “water in the bow” to have hope of ever “righting” it again.

I know full well what I’m implying. So be it.

But I’m old, and a realist, and that’s what I see.

Barrack has 25% to 30% just on those who won’t leave him. Blacks and hard-core lefties. The polls that show his approval are hardly honest evaluations of where he is or where George Bush was.

Then I have a very serious question for you and the rest of the folks on here.

WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S GOOD AND HOLY DO YOU BOTHER WITH NOTICING OR READING OR IN ANY WAY PAYING ATTENTION TO THESE POLLS??????????????????????????

If they are consistent in their bias you can get a good feel for what’s actually going on. If they say things look worse for The One then he’s in deep doo doo. And save the bold, caps, and multiple question marks. No need to shout. You’re among friends let’s keep it that way.

Of course non-violence doesn't work in war or in a Mad Max world, but we are still a country and we must not start the violence and we must be prepared not to respond to violence. We may tip over to lawlessness and mobs, but there is a line before that which we may not cross (God willing). If we resort to violence before that line is crossed (point of no return to a civil society) we will loose and public opinion will be against us. I plead for restraint, pray for reconciliation, and hope for the best.

I'd have to agree that there will be some American cities that will burn, but it won't be our side that does it. I understand the need to protect yourself and your own, but protection is not preemption.
