You started way before I did, but I have enough of a stockpile to get by with. Many was the time that I had to leave my 1911’s at home when I went to the range, because I didn’t want to dip into the ‘rainy day’ stockpile, due to the uncertainty of replacement.
It looks like ammo availability is getting back to normal, although the prices for some are twice what I was paying in the pre-Obama days.
I fully understand. My rainy day supply isn't something I'd shoot at the range though. That's all JHP -- the "good stuff." For example, when Black Talons hit the market I instantly saw where that would eventually wind up and over the course of about 18 months I picked up close to 500rds. A couple boxes at a time. That's not stuff, I'd just fritter away on an idpa match! Lately, I have taken to shooting a lot of Blazer in 45 and have now found some excellent deals at NATCHEZSS
