People who pull out in front of you, making you hit the brakes, when there are no cars behind you for a half-mile.

And then they proceed to coast along in front of you at 30 mph.

Nah. I was actually talking about dirt track racing for autos. Essentially you are tipping the wheel to the left enough to get the rear to come around then you turn into the skid (turning right, basically) to keep from spinning all the way around. Young punk asphalt drivers refer to it as drifting, but dirt drivers have been doing it forever.

“That must be the most-hated man in all of NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, and VA. “

Well, I almost strangled the co-worker because he thought it was funny. I’m sure the collective blood pressure of those on I-95 rose significantly.

I also hate following the "face talker," you know, the driver who must look his passenger in the face while talking to him.

You can see him, as weaves around, constantly turning his head to look his passenger in the eye while only taking brief glances at the road ahead.

If I were the passenger, it's be like, "Dude, we're the only two people in the car. I know you're talking to me. Keep your damn eyes on the road."

I just sit there and shake my head at them and refuse to go. They always give in and go ahead of me. lol In my mind, those types are the kind that might wait for you to go and then run into you and say you ignored the right of way.

Is publana a foreign phrase meaning road rage?

Seek professional help, honey. I’d rather travel with left lane road hogs than angry agressive hot-heads like you.

(Why would you ever post something like post 257? You have no sense. If you did, you would be so embarrassed.)

I deal with this every single morning on my little commute. This morning I had 3 ughs on the way to work.

First, in the 65 mph zone, I was in the left lane as I was coming up on vehicles that were going 55 or less. Well, just as I got up to the two vehicles, the driver of the Jeep, going 55 on the dot, decided the vehicle in front of him was going too slow, so he pulled into the left lane in front of me, requiring me to hit my brakes (no blinker or any warning he was coming over).

Next, I have the gal that likes I am driving 60 in the 55, so she tailgates me. When I move over to let her pass, she won’t. So it makes me look like I am lane hopping because I move back over as I approach slower traffic in front of me. THANKS!

Next was the idiot that turned against me at the light when I had the right away. I have gotten to where I no longer slow to check that person and just keep going. He didn’t like it.

People leaving church parking lots after Sunday services. For some reason they must think that God is providing them divine protection when the pull into moving traffic.

This means if you have backed everyone up behind you no matter what the reason, your odds of dying are very high.

Which, of course is right and just.

1. Drive really slow

For some reason, its always a guy in a buick that goes slow. Whenever I get stuck behind a buick in traffic, I KNOW I'm in for a slooooow ride. One time I entered the freeway (speed limit 55), only to wind up behind some old guy in a buick doing 35. I tried but couldnt get around him because the traffic in the other lanes were moving quite fast. It was about 10 minutes before I finally managed to get into the other lane and pass him.

3. Beep when you don’t instantly start after a green light

One time I'm at a corner. The stoplight is red. I want to make a right turn, Legally, you can make a right turn at a red signal UNLESS theres a sign that reads "No turn on red". So I wait for the light to change. A guy comes up from behind me and starts impatiently honking his horn. I lift my arm above the seat so that he could see it, and I point to the traffic sign right alongside my car that reads "no turn on red". At that he sheepishly stopped honking his horn.

4. Tailgaters who easily could go around you

When being tailgated, I tend to slow it down. I'm sorry bud, the closer you ride my bumper, the slower I plan to go.

5. Don’t pay attention at traffic lights

Hey, buddy! It turned green! Move forward! Or are you waiting for an engraved invitation?

8. Turn in front of you without using a signal.

Yep, most drivers dont use their turn signals. The few that do wait until the last minute to do so. One time, same corner as number 3 I mention above. The street has two lanes. One to go forward, and one in which you can go forward or to the right. There is a "no turn on red" sign and the street light was red. I wanted to make a right turn and there was a guy in front of me. He had no turn signal on, so naturally I assumed that he planned to drive straight forwrd. Nope. After the light changed, he made a right turn. Only when he was halfway into his turn, did he bother to turn on his turn signal.

10 most annoying motorists

If there are only 10, why are they always in my vicinity?

The most annoying are those that don’t know how to merge off the interstate.

Or how to get on the interstate. They hover in the on-ramp, neither slowing down nor speeding up to merge into traffic. They expect the other drivers to accommodate them, to read their minds. Maybe they expect me to just stop altogether and let them get on. I think their basic strategy involves closing their eyes and hoping or praying they will get on without crashing.

I think my number one peeve is drivers who aren’t even on the road yet. I hate drivers who zoom by you as you’re trying to back out of a parking space. People do this to me so often that I now try to park where I can pull out instead of back out. No matter how careful I am with constantly looking back and forth looking for cars coming down the isle, more often than not there will be someone who appears out of nowhere trying to zoom around behind me when I am already half-way backed out of my parking space. Scares the crap out of me and puts me in a shitty mood fast. I think these drivers are just asking to get hit so they can sue for some crazy reason.

"He’s a she, btw."

Which makes perfect sense in light of your comments which seem to indicate a penchant for aggressive driving on a thread regarding annoying motorists!

"Don't worry about smug, sanctimonious, self-righteous, goody-goody, holier-than-thou, hypocritical, insincere, pious, preachy, self-satisfied, and stuffy drivers such as those on this thread. "

After reading that, I think I feel safer knowing that you're "former" LEO.

Genoa has repeatedly reiterated in his posts that he would move to the left lane at such time as there was an opening and it was safe to do so. Never did he say there had ever been any scenario where he had to drive in the passing lane for MILES and MILES waiting for such an opening. Posters here are assuming too much that Genoa is just a rude driver. Aggressive drivers breaking the speed limit laws and tailgating in the passing lane are being just as rude and impatient when they can't wait for a quarter mile or half mile at the most to go by until a driver in front of them ~ who is also speeding to some extent if they are in the passing lane ~ comes upon an opening to move over and return the posted speed limit. Are drivers in the passing lane supposed to scare the crap out of drivers in the traveling lane by jerking in front of them with inches to spare simply to get out of the way of someone aggressively tailgating them??

If we didn't have drivers on the road who think they can speed and break the speed limit laws with impunity and only drove in the passing lane when passing instead of using the passing lane as their own personal raceway, the roadway would be safer for everyone.

Sounds like you are not even sure of your emotion, eh?

Anyways, I always stop reading any post at "I feel"......

13. Drivers who think there’s no speed limit in the left lane.

I consider the left lane to be the passing lane. There is no limit, but you need to be passing somebody.

In the left lane, you're either passing or blocking.

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh. I'm already considerably over the speed limit, and someone even further over than I am is trying to intimidate me by tailgating. But they're not impolite. I'm the one who is impolite because I don't immediately move to the right for them regardless of how much traffic might be in the right lane.
