It’s too bad, it was a good show, but from the first frames it had no mass appeal.

Well, I for one, didn't watch it because I was just coming off of a long stint of watching BSG jumping a light-year-long shark, and had a pretty bad taste in my mouth for the entire franchise.

I suppose it could end up being one of those shows (like Firefly) that I finally watch on DVD and kick myself for not supporting while it was still on.

My comment was more a rant against SyFy than against the show, itself.

Don't think it's going to pull a Firefly because the former show moved, had brilliant writing, was funny and scary by turns and had truly wild concepts running through the show. None of that applies to Caprica which had dull characters, only one cool idea (the experiential internet, borrowed from Neal Stephenson) and no humor whatsoever. I'm good with horror but only if it is leavened with some humor (even Cloverfield had its funny moments early on). Caprica simply sat there, daring me to like it. No sale.

Now you've done it. You mentioned Firefly and I have to spend time looking up Chinese curse words for the idiots at Fox.

This week on Castle Nathan Fillion's character rattled off a Chinese sentence. The detective with him asked him if he knew it because he studied abroad for a semester and he said "Nah, TV show I used to love."
