The global warming true believers (oops, I meant to say "scientists") would simply dodge that question by arguing that the warming trend is real, but is being obscured by other factors, such as the aforementioned industrialization. My response to that would be that it then appears that their climate models were designed to model climate on some hypothetical planet that doesn't exist. The real world is chock full of mitigating factors that can't simply be shrugged off, yet they do so anyway because it doesn't fit the approved narrative.
