Thank you! According to my priest friend in Ethiopia, it’s not going to be Christmas there until January 7, and I don’t think January 7 in Ethiopia is the same day as January 7 here.

Thank you! According to my priest friend in Ethiopia, its not going to be Christmas there until January 7, and I dont think January 7 in Ethiopia is the same day as January 7 here. Yes, it is. For 16 hours out of the day. They are 8 hours ahead of you -- add 8 hours to your time to find theirs. It's 6:30 PM Sunday for you, and 2:30 AM Monday for them.
(Just FYI, I'm regularly calculating the 9-hour offset between here and Central Europe Time, which is where most of my colleagues there live.)
