Bristol Palin Eyeing Big Money Deals Post-'Dancing'

By Rob Shuter

Nov 29th 2010 03:03PM

Bristol Palin didn't technically win 'Dancing With the Stars' last week, but financially, the 20-year-old mom is paso doble-ing all the way to the bank.

"Bristol made over $345,000 from being on the show and currently is getting $35,000 for each speaking gig she does," an insider reveals to me. "Yet, all that is going to feel like pocket change if one or two of the big deals she's currently working on actually happens."

Palin family friends tell me there is a major deal in the works for Bristol to be the spokesperson for a middle American fashion brand, as well as a book deal and a multi-million offer to appear on another reality show.

They all start out naive and starry-eyed...from Judy Garland right on down to Brittany Spears.

Both of whom were performing onstage from a very, very young age, thanks to their moms.

Just saying....

I hope she avoids the relaity show, but think it would be awesome for her to pursue some type of book deal, or middle American fashions.

I think many “regular”, “ordinary” American girls and young women can definitely identify with Bristol more than say, Lady GaGa, or some other trashy singer.

I hope she uses this new found fame wisely.

You are thinking like me girl... I said same up the thread. Chelsea’s parents would have had the baby “taken care of”. Chelsea is hardly the poster girl to hold up against Bristol.

"The media had a “hands-off” code with regard to Ms. Clinton."

Please. How many times has Chelsea Clinton posed for a paid 10-page layout in a tabloid glossy? How many times has she appeared on Oprah, or The View or Entertainment Tonight?

Whatever the circumstances of Bristol's celebrity are, she is more than a little responsible for it herself. The "media made me do it" meme wears more than a little thin.

I'll reassert my original thesis, whatever the failings of the Clintons are - and they are innumerable - Chelsea turned out to be an incredibly impressive young woman.

"Further, if Bristol’s options are to make a shit load of money and make life a little easier, or go back to Wasilla and work as a receptionist "

Really? Those are her only two options - fame whore or front desk clerk? Somehow, with multi-million dollar parents, that doesn't seem all that likely. I'm betting part-time student, full-time mother might be financially feasible.

If Sarah can get her son on The Bachelor and her daughter Willow on Temptation Island, then she might be getting ready for the White House.

What does that have to do with Sarah's image?
She's an unconventional politician, perhaps the first real politician of the 21st century. Her detractors say that she's too polarizing, but yet she shouldn't showcase her family and life as an everyday woman? You guys can't have it both ways.

You're pissed because she didn't curl up in the fetal position and bowed in the presence of the liberal media/DNC/entertainment complex like all Republicans would have done.

As long as she’s setting up a college fund, live it up, Bristol, but keep your head, and have a Plan B.

Nice to see you are so enamored of the Clintons’ parenting skills. Your comments could be enshrined at DU. Just keep on standing on that thesis, I’m sure it will serve you well. You may just have an opportunity to vote for Mrs. Clinton in 2012... sure that will delight you.

Rehabilitate her image via a reality show

The last place I would go to rehabilitate a tarnished image is a reality show. Bristol needs to lead by example - be a good mom, go back to school, find a career through hard work and initiative. When kids of celebrities get something for nothing it usually ends badly.

The MSM is salivating at the chance to tear Bristol to ribbons if she does a reality show or cashes in on her celebrity in some other way. How does that help Sarah?

"Nice to see you are so enamored of the Clintons’ parenting skills. "

Is exactly what someone might say who doesn't want to answer the very straightforward questions I asked. While Bristol has gone out of her way to put herself into every possible media opportunity out there, Clinton - and to a lessor degree the Bush twins, have done the EXACT opposite. If I had my preference about the behavior of politician's kids, it would certainly be the later, and NOT the former.

Since Chelsea didn't get pregnant that logic is hardly a home run.

I thought we at FR didn't play into trashing children of politicians for the sake of trashing

Well, this is not a reality show in the MTV sense. It is a travelogue designed to show America the beauty and potential of Alaska. Sarah's family exists as a backdrop.

Bristol needs to lead by example - be a good mom, go back to school, find a career through hard work and initiative. When kids of celebrities get something for nothing it usually ends badly.

Excuse me, but Bristol is a grown woman. There is nothing Governor Palin can do about it other than offer advice on making the right choices. She would have settled if her man wouldn't have walked out on her.

The MSM is salivating at the chance to tear Bristol to ribbons if she does a reality show or cashes in on her celebrity in some other way. How does that help Sarah?

The MSM is going to tear whoever wins the GOP nomination. Why are you worried about the MSM?

I could really care less about this if it weren’t for the fact that the conservative movement may miss its chance in 2012 because the GOP nominated a tabloid person for President.

My response is regarding Chelsea being brought up by previous post. How do you know whether or not Chelsea was ever pregnant? You don’t. Which is my point entirely.
As to trashing politician’s children, it looks like that is only good so long as the child is not a Palin.

Your type of thinking is politically obsolete.

So we now must prove a rumor to be false to debate the reality of Palins pregnancy?

No one is trashing Bristol for being the daughter of Sarah. That you and so many others fail to see that is willful

I'm not worried about it, but why give them more ammunition? Sarah's celebrity got Bristol on DWTS. She should show her gratitude by staying under the radar so if Sarah does decide to run in 2012 she won't have even more baggage to deal with than she has now.

Agree. What moron would pay to hear this girl speak? Does she impart great bromides learned from getting knocked up by her dunce ex-boyfriend?

I like Sarag but this is getting ridiculous

Old man calls 20 years old kid a "fame whore".

You're description of her is classless as was your earlier description of her pregnancy.
