1) I support public cameras so that incidents like this can be filmed.
2) I truly believe that people who initiate physical violence should lose the protection of the law.
3) You throw a punch, I can kill you. I show the tape in court, I walk free.

Honestly, I don't know how to solve the social breakdown. We are now subject to the rule of the jungle and I see no social mechanism that makes even the slightest step toward mitigating that process. But giving citizens a very freee hand to strike back would do it.

Clearly a hate crime because the victim is singled out for no discernable reason. Everybody has earbuds in now days. The MP3 player was used to draw the victim into the confrontation, thereby “justifying” the violence against her. It's bullcrap, and if people don't wake up and stand up we will all pay the price.

Agreed. However...

That would require those in political power to give up some of said power. And that will never happen this side of total civil collapse.
