(December 19, 2010) Michelle Obama and the girls, Sasha and Malia, as well as the first dog, Bo, have arrived in Hawaii without the President, Barack Obama. The first family left the White House in Washington DC yesterday and arrived in Hawaii on the island of Oahu at about 7 pm reports are coming in.
President Obama has decided to stay back DC to finish up the remaining business that congress has for him while Michelle and crew play in Hawaii. Those not on Oahu, or the windward side, (we’re just down the road from where they’re staying) might feel a little better about not being in Hawaii with the knowledge that the Obama’s have arrived to a flash flood on Oahu.
......President Obama and his family have been here every year since he starting running for president in 2008. Great observation....so it's implied in the article that he never went there before for the 'holidays' to visit the grandmother-who raised him...but now he's high hogging it on the Islands.
I really could care a rats less about where they go on vacation. They live a vacation every day. However, if my husband couldn’t go with me...I would wait WITH HIM until we could ALL go together. THAT to me is FAMILY.
How about the extra expense to send Air Force One Or two or whatever)from Washington DC to Hawaii TWICE! Once out with wife and kids, then return EMPTY to DC, then out again with Ozero when he is ready to join his family.
I recently read somewhere what it costs the Air Force to fly those planes....an incredible hourly rate. And don’t forget, we are paying for it.

You are right. Everyone entering Hawaii with a pet must place the pet in quarantine for something like 3 to 6 months. They have been very strict about that. But hey, these are the Obumblers. They can do whatever they please.

Maybe The Won actually wants it to rain on Miz Michelle.
Actually she went to HI on a 737 this time and the press tried to pass it off as a “military business jet” and oooh over how she was saving money. Now he flies out on a 747(air force one). Either way the 737 probably cost almost as much as Air Force One. Plus the 737 probably has returned already, empty as you say.
