I believe she should tone down the achievements of her family, (before I get flamed) I am for her and and will vote for her. I think this country needs a change and she is the right one to do that. I don't think she is acting, I believe she is real.

I overheard different people talking about " lucky kids" They feel that the kids got some pretty good breaks because of their mom. Not my opinion but when you hear the same thing at different times by different people, I think there is something to it. I don't think the kids are getting that many breaks because they seem to be able to do well when on their own.

Palin is getting a lot of attention (and I believe the Libs are scared to death of her otherwise they would drop it). I can't imagine any of the other( considered "front runners") for the GOP being able to beat Obama. We can't have the MSM picking our primary winner like the last time. Its Palin all the way.

Give me time to get my tin foil hat adjusted.

I believe the opposite. She's the left's dream opponent. The only one who absolutely guarantees another Obama term.

No, you have some important and valid points. She has chosen---perhaps it was her only recourse---to go at this from the "celebrity" approach, rather than earn her creds as Alaska governor, then become senator or whatever. As I say, that might have been her only realistic shot.

But people shouldn't think it is without severe pitfalls, most of which you mention. I like Palin---if it were her, Mitt, Huck, or Pawlenty, I'd support her---but I think it is absolutely foolish of conservatives to put on blinders to how she is perceived by the co-called "middle." I'm not talking the rabid left. They don't concern me. I'm talking upper middle class housewives, whose conversations my wife tells me about. Palin is absolutely NOT on their radar as a political candidate because she is viewed as a conservative Oprah.
