Jesus wasnt being abusive when he called the Pharisees serpents. Calling someone a serpent is a Biblical metaphore. That is a long way from I hear people say to each other these days. Jesus didn't use ANY of the phrases that are in common use today.

Some people like to think of Jesus as a weak push over who begs for us to love Him. He is the commander of the armies of Heaven. He cut us a real big break when He was here the first time. Not going to be that way the second.
