XD is a good gun (that is what I have in 9mm) as is the XD Subcompact. Get a good conceal carry holster if that is the intent.
The Crossbreed Supertuck holster is a really good conceal carry holster, that is custom fit to your specific handgun.
One difference is that you can actually get 9 rounds in the mag of the HK. I never try to jam that last round in a Glock mag.
I bought a High Noon holster for my subcompact and found that I didn’t like it. The ride was high enough that I felt like it didn’t have enough of the barrel down inside the waistband to be secure. Felt like the whole holster was going to flip out over my belt. Maybe I just bought the wrong model for that gun.

Thanks for mentioning the Crossbreed Supertuck. I have one for my full-size XDM .40. Have been known to fall asleep in the chair with it on.
Guns and underwear share many comonalities. It’s all in personal preference...just as long as you wear them. :-)
I’ll second the Glock - buy a Glock 23 (mid-size .40 S&W) and you can convert it to .357 SIG with a $100 barrel, or to 9mm with a $100 barrel swap and a $25 magazine. If you are looking for concealed carry, the Glock 27 offers the same advantages (please note that a barrel for the 23 will work in the 27, but not vice versa) plus extreme concealability. The basic Glock design is identical across all their pistols and is ingenious, simple, reliable, and safe. YMMV
