Agreed.
Keith Moon definitely has my vote for personality alone.
I am also glad to see Dave Grohl, from the Foo Fighters, make the list.
After seeing them in concert twice, we always had a great time.

ah, youth......Gene Krupa did more for drumming and drums than any 5 listed here.....you need to see and hear his work and remember how long ago it was.....
First guy ever to use a bass drum on a recording....
just about invented the drum solo....
First drummer to lead his own band....
First drummer to star in films as himself....
Copied by many but never beaten....the first big star drummer....set up for a pot rap to bring him down.....
even great in a small club.....

The list isn't that good but Stewart Copeland probably belongs on it. The Police were only around for a few years but with the exception of their last album (Synchronicity) their music holds up very well 30 years later and while Copeland's drumming didn't shine in the studio, check out the YouTube video of early Police concerts, his drumming was pretty darn good.
Since The Police broke up, Sting has been a real bore, he should have kept his ego in check and kept the band together.

Superstition
After writing the song Wonder offered it to Beck to record, but at the insistence of his own manager Wonder himself recorded it first. Beck was instead offered "Cause We've Ended As Lovers," which he recorded on Blow by Blow in 1975. Jeff Beck played guitar on "Talking Book" and later recorded his own version of "Superstition" as a part of Beck, Bogert & Appice.Shaky vid but it tells the story. Man...the memories.

I’m late to the party on this one. I know I am no expert, but I enjoy the drumming from Bun e. Carlos (Cheap Trick). Some of these guys I know, but most I have to run to google them to find out who they are. That is a shame, because the drummer is so unappreciated. I do like these threads where I can get an education. I hate being ignorant on such important matters.
