There’s just nothing that says an American can’t also be a foreign citizen by birth: our government doesn’t recognize the foreign citizenship but it doesn’t penalize it, either
Citizen is the key word, the POTUS must be Natural Born Citizen.
There is no right to be POTUS but you do have to meet the Constitutional requirements.
It is not being penalized for not doing so.

I should have been more clear. By “new citizenship”, I mean his boyhood Indonesian citizenship. If Obama, for some reason, had found it advantageous to assert his Indonesian citizenship after becoming an adult, then this would pose a political problem for his Presidential ambitions. The birther debate would have been unleased in full cry and he would have been unlikely to survive the primaries, much less the general election.
I’m just offering this up as a reason why Obama would go to such great lengths to cover his early years paper trail.

Try telling that to the thousands of Amer-asians denied US citizenship in places like Japan, Korea,The Phillipines and Vietnam because their fathers were American servicemen.
The law is not as cut and dry as you think it is, in fact during the time Obama was born it was quite different than we have been lead to believe today.
Since Indonesia does not, if Obama ever traveled anywhere under an Indonesian passport, he had lost his American citizenship at that point, regardless of where he was born.
Further, it was that lawyer’s opinion that even if he had regained American citizenship through the naturalization process afterwards, he would still be ineligible for the Presidency because at that point he would be a naturalized US citizen, not a natural born citizen, even if he had been born in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House.
Do not use that lawyer for any immigration issues. He does not know what he is talking about.

Marc Rich (Yes, THAT Marc Rich) tried to weasel out of a lawsuit on the basis that he had acquired Spanish citizenship and renounced his US citizenship. The court held that while he had indeed done the above two acts he had continued to present himself as an American, and used his American passport, therefore he had never intended to give up his American citizenship.
Under current law, you CANNOT "lose" your American citizenship by accident, you must explicitly renounce it, and act in a manner consistent with that renouncement.
A parent cannot renounce it for a minor either. Nor can an Indonesian law strip an American of his citizenship.
US law acknowledges, grudgingly, dual citizenship, but does not really recognize it. An American is an American, period, regardless of what another country may say. The only partial exception is if an American dual citizen is in the other nation he is a citizen of, in which case the United States can't offer consular assistance.
Doubt that it would make a bit of difference in anything but is it possible he was born April 8?

I handed this to my Congressman:
Under the Constitution a requirement to become POTUS:
Requires Both Parents must be Citizens of the United States to be considered a “Natural-Born” Citizen!
Mr Obama has stated in his book “Dreams of My Father” & several times at speaking engagements , that his father was a “Kenyan with British Citizenship”!
Mr Obama’s.... “Legal”....... father was a Kenyan with British Citizenship.
Under “Vattel’s Law of Nations” ( which our Founding Fathers used in defining “Natural-Born” Citizen). The “Country of the Fathers is therefor that of the Children”; and these become true citizens by their Tacit consent.
I say,that, in order to “be of the country”, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will only be the place of his birth and “Not” his Country!!
Also, as a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was goverened by:
The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act goverened the status of Obama Sr.’s Children.

(Part II, Section 5): Subject to provisions of this section, a person born after the commencement of the Act shall be a “citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies” by descent if his father is a citizen of the United Kingdom at the time of the birth.
In other words, at the time of his birth, Barack Obama Jr. was a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies (or the UKC) by virtue of being born to a father who was a citizen of UKC.
Therefore, Barack Obama Jr. is “Not” eligible to be POTUS.
It is time for Congress to stand-up for the Constitution!!

Nancy Pelosi realized that Mr Obama did “Not” meet the requirements to become POTUS so; she notorized & signed 2 different affidavits certifying that Mr Obama was elegible to be nominated by the Democrat Party. The only State that had the words “Certified under the Constitution” was the State of Hawaii.... All other states received the second affidavit that said he was “eligible” to be nominated but; the words:
“Certified Under the Constitution” were eliminated..... This is Fraud & Corruption!!
Mr Obama knows that he did “Not” meet the requirements to become POTUS !!
