I have not seen that shirt... just proves that the twisted thinking of Updyke is still out there (even as he sits in the Lee County lock-up)....

Just trying to concentrate on the well wishes and genuine support from many Bama fans (most of whom actually went to college!!!) and trying to ignore the ignorance and hatred of the minority (most of whom never sat in a college classroom ANYWHERE!!!)

I didn’t say I can always ignore them.... its a day to day thing :)

It is very good for the soul. After all, God created the first garden and that is where He set man. When the fall occurred, He kicked us out but it would not surprise me if heaven was a beautiful garden. With a really big house.

A friend has put me on to Tecnu which is a homeopathic wash. It really does stop urushiol in about 15 seconds.

I've read The Secret Garden, but I don't believe I've read the Godden book. I have two of her books that I read as a child. They're here somewhere. I'll have to hunt them up.

This is a crime and not a prank. Whoever did this needs to spend some time in prison with Bubba.

Over past year there have been a number of stories about historic trees in this country and from around the world being destroyed or attacked. Is there some sort of pattern developing?

I don’t know about the other trees, but this was the work of one deranged lunatic. He has been repudiated by those he claimed to support and outside of his family, he has no friends anywhere. He, Harvey Almorn Updyke, Jr., will be spending many years in prison.

Yeah. Saw 2 different reports of Bama fans saying the eagle would be next. One has been sent to the police and AU. So called Bama fans are saying disgusting things on the internet. If bama does not do something about their fans, something really awful is going to happen. My friend who played for AU thinks the same thing. One guy posted that the bama fans needed to get tougher on AU like Hitler. I know people say nutty things on the Internet but if anyone had seen a post before the trees. Would they have taken it seriously? I am sorry but I do not trust any bama fan. People on a bama sports site are saying this bama for toomer or wherever it is called is just a publicity stunt to get good publicity. They want it to go national so people will think, “ bama fans are not so bad after all”. I think that is what it is, too. I am donating money to the fund but it WILL NOT be through Bama. I have learned more about their mentality since this happened than ever before. I even entered the tree lottery to see if I can get a seedling for my friend. They will not be available until September and will cost $100. I just felt like I needed to do that for my friend. He is just sick that he had so many chances to buy one over the years but did not. All of this has made me sick and except for my friend, I do not have any AU connection at all.
