The hopelessness going on in this country is staggering among the chronic unemployed. For many, the first reaction is "who cares". I would suggest we think about the social implications of such a large mass of humanity becoming increasingly disenfranchised. What will the ultimate end game be? Will the masses of Americans hurling towards poverty do so quietly or will there be some type of "flash point" that abruptly changes the socioeconomic order?

I don’t have utube at work (or at home for that matter). What do you propose we do about the problem? Would you be in favor of eliminating corporate income taxes for example?

nobama’s plan is working. This pretender-fool of a president wants every city to look like bad video game cities with poor, unemployed, disheartened people wandering the streets aimlessly. All praise the great leader, nobama.

I find myself spiraling into a depression after 2+ years of not working in my profession.

I don’t feel inclined towards violence.

Import tariffs.

Particularly on Chinese imports, if we much choose only some. Better yet - on ALL imports.

If we don’t bring back manufacturing, America will silently spiral into moneyless, jobless, powerless oblivion.

Sooner than anyone can imagine. Already just in one generation we have gone from history’s biggest, most successful, rich, manufacturing powerhouse.

To debt-burdened, pauper. In debt to a communist nation.

I agree. It makes me sick that people would promote a national sales tax before they’d promote a tariff on imports. How the hell does that make any sense?

Too late. Our manufacturing of consequential stuff is gone (I wouldn’t be able to post much without Chicomm laptops). The other problem is that tarriffs will increase business costs here. It’s a nice thought that we could somehow build a decent laptop here, but the simple fact is we can’t.

The dims have been working to get as many people as possible on government assistance because they can turn around and accuse Repubs of wanting to cut their money off. Creating dim voters. Same reason they won’t secure the border. More votes for them.

Team obama just accelerated the process like we have never seen. They wrecked the economy putting lots of folks on govt assistance who would never think about doing this, but have to. 2007-2008.

The dims lost the house, but didn’t really seem to mind. Most times when dims lose elections, the lawsuits start flying before sundown. Very little ruckus this time.

The repubs won the house, but are now in a position facing enourmous spending passed into law and a unsustainable budget forcing them to make cuts. Guess who gets the blame?

The dims keep on playing games with American lives while our solvency is being swept away. Sooner or later the financial chickens will come home. to roost.

I am sorry you are having a hard time.

I’ll soon have a graduating college guy with big expectations to deal with. I hope he’s able to find something to do that he feels is worth his college degree and ambition.

One hopeful thing is that he has many ideas for starting his own businesses. But I would rather he work for a bit and get some experience first.
