Please,...no more,

Having watched approximately a trillion TV shows in my life, please, no more:

Lions eating zebras

Insects of the Amazon

Crocodiles eating anything

Black holes

Guys logging trees

Guys wasting their lives playing gold miner in Alaska

Guys fishing for crab

Guys fishing for swordfish

Guys who train dogs

Guys who pretend to survive in the wilderness with their film crew and make-up artist

Wolves eating buffalos

Wolves eating elk

Wolves eating other wolves. Enough. I get it. They're hungry!

NCIS LA, NCIS Terre Haute, NCIS Mars...you get the picture.

Any of the 3 billion Law and Order programs still out their in reruns

Any program appearing on MSNBC ever!

Sharks eating anything and anyone

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Charmed (Man does that show blow!)

College Lacross

High school anything

Dharma and Gregg

The New Adventures of some hag called old Christine

Guys restoring another junker

Guys pawning junk

Homo Dougie Hauser playing a hetero love stud

Ok, I've got a million more they should never allow on TV again, but I'm sure you've either fallen asleep reading this or are currently screaming at your monitor...NO MORE VANITIES! I'm done ranting. Feel free to add any others you particularly can't stand to watch.

I have four TVs and Direct TV, which I love.
My question to those of you who have thrown your TV over a cliff is...what do you do in your free time, ie the evenings? Read, twiddle your thumbs, listen to classical music? I don’t get it.

The most obnoxious, Bridezillas. No more family shows like the Kordashians who are only in it to make a buck with their unusually large butts. No more young girls dressing like whores and punks who act tough. No more couple shows “I am in love” for the money. This is not entertainment. It is embarrassment.

And please, ID Investigative Discovery, please do not cheat the viewer by recycling old stories into what you call new stories. We are sure there is enough crime out there to not be redundant. However, I do like “Nothing Personal” because of the host who has a real wit.

Ever hear of the internet? *snicker*

I haven’t tossed the tv yet but I spend tons of time on this site reading the news - instead of watching the news.

If I want to find a TV show or movie that I want to watch instead of what the cable channels decide I should watch -I can usually find them on the internet - instantly.

I really should toss the tv.....

Little chocolateering ice road trucking axe men who’ve seen ghosts, aliens, bigfoot and signs of the coming 2012 apocalypse.

Did I get them all?

LOL!

Yeah, the Internet..me too, of course.
I just always wonder about families that don’t have TV. It brings up an image of Amish people quilting or playing cards by the fire. :-)
I guess I like the distraction, but only watch certain shows. I’m tiring of Fox news, my go to station, since they upped the Lib quota. Watched DWTS tonight, which I am embarrassed to say is addicting for me.
Off to listen to the Great One now as I drift off to sleep. AHHHhhhh...
Interesting that you can find so much good stuff on the Internet, L27.

The Kardashians, which I happened to watch this past weekend for reasons unbeknowst to me, is so depressing. After wasting two hours of my life in their mindless, materialistic reality show world, I felt the need to get out and walk/run with my dog to rid myself of the hangover like effect of viewing them.

I really like NCIS - have watched one after another on the NCIS Marathon that USA channel has.

Love The Good Wife despite their snarky comments about conservatives. I also like Castle for some strange reason. And can’t wait for Mad Men to start up again, Burn Notice, Fairly Legal.

There are some good shows but few of them on the regular stations.

Agree, that program has caused me to throw out something every now and then and feel so proud of myself...:O) GG (AKA the hoarder) It also helped to stop selling on ebay and hitting garage sales every weekend, secret thrift shops and goodwill industries...Although at goodwill I found a 14K gold retirement watch for 5 dollars once..it pays to open the boxes on the shelf’s sometimes...sold for 100 dollars but not on ebay..

I figure that’s why there are all those channels; watch what you want.

I personally find some of the things listed in the rant here are interesting.

I have never had cable and hope someday to watch some of those more interesting sounding shows.

If I don’t like them I’ll just go do something else, you know, it’s not that you are pinned down.

youtube has tons of creative stuff on it. Last resort, produce your own. Don’t get to feeling trapped by what’s on tv for heaven’s sake.

Don’t cash it in if you watch the View. Use a 20 gage on the TV. Much satisfaction blowing it up during that show...:O)

“Read, twiddle your thumbs, listen to classical music? I don’t get it.”

Read for sure, surf the ‘net, crafts of various sorts, listen to the radio/podcasts.

I haven’t thrown my tv off a cliff, but, I really only watch 2-3 shows a week. No cable, for one thing.

You just need to watch something a little more intellectual like “Say Yes to the Dress” or “The Young and the Wristless”, you know, something like that!

I do like curling. It only comes on once every four years here, anyway.

Except for the curling comment, I’ve agreed with everything up here, especially the Housewives bit. But the vampire stuff is KILLING me.

Vampires, traditionally are bad creepy and evil. They are horror constructs that suck blood out of people. This romantice vampire bit drives me bonkers.

Movies where a woman is victimized by a man, no one believes her or helps her, and finally he attacks her in her house late one night and in the dark he chases her through the house until she throws him off the balcony with something she made of rake and an extension cord, and gets out of the house all bloody and runs down the walk into the arms of the hero who is surrounded by cops and lights, being just a smidgion late.

There. I just described the entire Lifetime movie lineup.
