JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An 81-year-old Florida man said he used a pan full of fried potatoes and a pitchfork to fight off an armed robber he found in his home.
Bobby Smith of Jacksonville said he was working in his garden about 11 a.m. Saturday when his caretaker, Luvina Sones, 65, came out and said there was someone inside the house, The (Jacksonville) Florida Times-Union reported Thursday.
Smith said he went into his kitchen and discovered a man standing next to his oven with a gun in one hand and stolen items, including ID cards and a plastic bag of money, in the other.
The octogenarian said the robber shoved him to the ground and took his wallet.
"I grabbed the frying pan and hit him upside the head. I knocked his teeth out ... and he went to the floor," Smith said. "There was a pitchfork about 6 feet away ... [and] I stuck him."
Smith said the robber fled the home, "bleeding on the way out."
"I was angry; I was upset; and I was as mad as all outdoors," Smith said Wednesday. "If I'd had my gun, like I normally would have, I would have shot him because he was in my home. I don't like people hurting my family or my home."
Police said a K-9 dog discovered the stolen wallet had been dropped near the home.
Lesson: Always keep a pitchfork in your kitchen.
Some stories are saying that the police K-9 caught the perp, but no mention of his name or details.
However, if he was poked in the abdomen with a pitchfork, one detail is that they had better get him to a hospital pronto, as both tetanus and peritonitis are figuring prominently in his horoscope.
Now that’s forked up.
The brain is the weapon; everything else is just accessories.
Send this fellow to Washington, but exchange his pan for a torch.
Amish no doubt!
Another example of 2nd amendment infringement: The crook gets a gun, the victim gets a frying pan and a pitchfork. God bless him and glad he could still defend himself despite that.
Yes!
Best post this morning!

;-) Thank Joe. I was just quoting him.
We can only hope!
I love a happy ending!
I love a happy ending!
I'm going to steal that and have it put on a t-shirt.
You go, bro!
I can’t help but like this guy. I would love to sit down to a beer with him.

Well it is clear that we cannot have people stopping the non-governmental redistribution wealth.
All this robber was trying to do was to exact a little Social justice for himself, we cant have these law-abiding extremists stopping this can we?
It is time we had Pitchfork and pan control, it is time we ended the threat of Pitchfork violence!
