He's not AS conservative as many of us would like

Freepers who threaten to hold their breath and turn blue until the 2nd coming of Reagan aside...... I'll take someone who I agree with 90% of the time, over someone who I disagree with 100% of the time.

And, I'd add that if FR was around in the early 80s, plenty of FReepers wouldn't have liked Reagan, either. "He's Hollywood Elite" "Out of Touch" "Not getting rid of abortion/taxes/spending/unemployment/whatever fast enough" Or pick another commonly held FR belief.

Pawlenty would be an OK choice. Maybe not the best, but eminently better than what we've currently got.

Pawlenty's sins: 1. Minnesota Health Care; 2. Cap and Trade; 3. Banned tobacco use.

I know democrats who are more conservative than Pawlenty. Romney is more conservative than Pawlenty, and Romney is the prototypical rino.
