Sarah Da Cat watches the Military channel while I am at work.
Hitlers Bodyguard is her favorite. Followed by Greatest Tank Battles where she roots for the German Tigers and Panther tanks.
I’ll tell you what some of them do: the ones who have become house kitties remove several layers of cutaneous tissue from my foot when I put in in the wrong place when I’m asleep.
No one can say you don't have skin in the game.
Well then, Mr. Up-and-Up, are cats and dogs included with deer and other game on that license?
Long ago we took in a cat and it attacked our cats. When I was keeping it from killing my cat I got bit and got cat scratch fever with a red line going up my arm. I lanced it and soaked it in nearly hot water and it cleared right up. That cat got a home where it was king and the people adored it. You never can tell!
see post 60.
“I remember hearing something about a feral cat exermination program that was aimed at increasing bird population somewhere that had the opposite result; turns out rats were stealing the birds egss and the cats had been keeping the rat population in check...”
I think that such a policy sparked the bubonic plague epidemic. When humans stick their fat fingers into the food chain, they invariably sustain collateral damage (sigh).
“Stupid cats have gotten $90 from me.” Are you certain they weren’t highway patrol officers?
Cats are NOT invasive species. My father's generation NEVER allowed cats in the house. It's only been in the last couple decades that cats have been kept inside in the cities and such. This excuse they give to kill cats is just that...an excuse to kill. These ignorant heartless people need to be taught about the facts of cats....
Cats get blamed for so much....and yet they are not the real cause of these problems.
My ex-wife was bitten by her own cat who never left the house, ever. Word to the wise, don’t try to keep a jealous female terrier and a large, athletic, spoiled, unfixed male cat in the same room with you sleeping at night, and, if you must, and they get in a fight, don’t stick your arm between them to break up the fight.
Back to the health topic, the small puncture wounds were deep, which lead to an infection that could have been lethal and took some “fancy doctorin’” to recover from.
Again, it was a super-healthy, physically fit, friendly house cat who never left the house and was afraid of the expanse of the outside yard; if he did get out, he would hide in the bushes.
Biological fauna are all around us - even inside us ! Germs ! Germs ! Germs ! Get the iodine !
.
It’s not the cat’s fault. They are innocent creatures who only do what God programed them to do.
I do believe that there are those who enjoy killing.
I don’t like or trust people who would kill innocent animals.
It would be no trouble to trap and take these cats to a no kill shelter. He cculdn’t have that many strays come to his place.
Our Doctor warned us to never take a cat bite for granted. He said that he’s seen people loose a hand after a bite and they can be fatal. They had to make a deep incision in my wife’s hand to drain it and they gave her tetanus and antibiotic shots and put her on pills. The doctor was upset that she waited a day before being seen. He said you should always come in immediately if you get bit by a cat.
