The one that drives me nuts is heighth for height. I also hear a lot about kids being covered in whelps. I always say how fun, I love puppies!

SG, I agree with your list of words! My favorite mumpsimus from FR was said repeatedly by a woman who was so nutty you had to wonder if she was a plant from DU. She insisted the word rampant was instead, rampid. I even tried to correct her in freepmail but she insisted I was wrong. So we use the word “rampid” around my house all the time now. lol
And of course the corruption of the Texas town where my parents lived - New Braunsfels.
