And judging from the reaction of a number of male posters in this thread, they don't seemingly mind replicating this kind of sanctioning with their tax dollars across the country. I guess they want the taxpayer cash for clunker couches & condom program to keep on rockin'!

It's kind of like rape - if we are going to get screwed anyway, we might as well relax and enjoy it

Typical...expressing a botched pagan worldview where rape is primarily viewed as "sex" (to be "enjoyed" of all things) vs. rape as first and foremost an act of shameless violence.

But, hey...way to go to bat for rapist perps out there!

Be sure if you're ever called upon to be considered as a juror in a rape case, to say something equivalent to the above...so that the prosecution would readily dismiss you as prejudicial in favor of rapists.

(I certainly wouldn't want you as a juror if I had a daughter victimized by rape)

Hey, that's the worldview our porn factories have been churning out; so it doesn't surprise me when so-called "conservatives" forward it by exporting it.

Prior to the Internet porn era...
...when universities were still able to conduct the types of surveys it did...
[when there were actually men who had been limited in their exposure to porn...so that researchers could actually distinguish 'tween "massive" "moderate" and "no" exposure to porn]
...UCLA found interview subjects -- people who could be classified into those three categories.

Then they asked them a Q (& I believe they asked it of both men and women): "If you were a juror, how many years' sentence would you give a convicted rapist for their crime?"

Result? The more exposure the interview subject had to porn, the less jail time they recommended for the rapist.

Just as bonfire/campfire sparks burn holes in clothing, our cultural sparks' burns holes in worldviews, convictions, justice, and sensitivity to allow room for compassion.

Wow that’s the most idiotic thing I have ever read and I visit DU from time to time.

Rape ain’t sex, and it’s no more to be enjoyed than any other violent crime is.

Seriously, assuming you’re male, if a guy raped you would you try to enjoy it even though you’re a hetero? It really wouldn’t be any different for a woman.
