This was a very tough case to prove, and the prosecution did a very poor job with a very tough case.

It means nothing, as there really was no solid evidence to say what happened.

OJ jurors relieved at no longer being the dumbest 12 people on earth

Now they are part of the 24 dumbest people on earth.

Devastating and TRUE. My personal favorite:

“When you get to the point where you think everything short of witnessing the crime yourself is reasonable doubt, you are unreasonably stupid.”

I would not have convicted her either based on the evidence. The jury rendered the correct verdict IMO. Someone may look guilty, may even act guilty, but they are innocent until PROVEN guilty, which I don’t believe Ms. Anthony was. The prosecution couldn’t really offer a cause of death or even a legitimate motive. Baez dismantled the prosecution piece by piece. The prosecution didn’t help themselves make the jury think they were serious by openly laughing during Baez’s closing argument.

This trial’s biggest indictment is on our assanine “news entertainment”. I was a Prosecutor for 25 years and I can tel you that what you see on the news shows, even those hosted by attorneys, is almost NOTHING like what is going on in the courtroom.

Many people are railing against the jury because they have convicted the Defendant based on a few news highlights plus commentary by people who are not at all interested in informing, but sensationalizing.

She may be guilty. But it’s up to the State to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Even based on what I saw I was not the least bit surprised by the verdict. Sometimes as a Prosecutor you know you have to prosecute (usually based upon the heinous nature of the crime) but you just don’t have, and can’t get, the evidence that will convict.

The system worked, and that is a good thing.

Why would think that the OJ jury has ever thought they were wrong? To assume this would require them to change their minds and I don’t any have.

Anyone who receives a jury trial and assumes he will be judged “by his peers” must assume himself to be a nitwit.

From the clarity of thought I see displayed here on FR, I would guess that very few Freepers have ever been selected for a jury. The system intentionally screens logical thinkers out of the box. Who gets there?

This and the OJ case have taught me that you never admit to a crime. I say Susan Smith would be walking free today had she no broke down and confessed.

Jose Baez deserves the death penalty for being an accessory after the fact for helping a murderer lie her way out of a murder. He gave himself away as an anti- death penalty activists who believes that first degree murder and capital punishment are a moral equivalent, thus admitting his motive for taking the case and being lawless and immoral in his defense. He even said that he was proud that he “saved a life” and draws no distinction between guilt and innocence. He should be dis-barred at very least and never be allowed to defend a death penalty case again. His only interest in the case was to prevent the death penalty....

The OJ verdict isn’t the correct comparison...the Rodney King verdict is more like it. In both cases, a person taking a casual view of the facts and evidence would conclude that the defendants were guilty. But in a courtroom, where the evidence is picked at for hour after hour..when the drudgery of sifting through every detail time and time again drains away all the emotion and sensationalism...neither jury felt the prosecution had done enough to prove their case.

I’m OK with that...it’s the way the system works.

I am convinced that many on FR need to join these 12. Anyone and I mean anyone who says she should have been set free is too damn stupid to vote, breed, and be taken seriously.

If he weren't sitting in a South American jail, I thought Casey and Joran Vandersloot (sp?) would have made a good couple, as long as they didn't reproduce.(/s) We all heard how horrible Aruba was for not prosecuting Joran, but they had even less evidence and no body. So Casey was able to lie long enough that the Florida elements were able to destroy most of the forensic evidence so she got off. Yay. There was way more then enough circumstantial evidence. She's guilty as sin. We have not heard the last of Casey Anthony, like oj and Joran she'll get herself into to trouble again, hopefully not hurting anyone else.

OJ jurors were never dumb

They refused as black folks to convict a black hero even though he had a thing for white women.

And watching Marcia Clark tonight on TV....she is still oblivious to that fact and to the politically correct foolishness of moving it downtown and putting prosecutorial C team woman and black prosecutor up against Pro Bowl OJ defense team

Thats nothing, wait until the day Obama is in court with all the evidence of absolutely every crime he has done from the multiple SS numbers, his campaign contributions and if I quoted them all I would be typing for the next 6 hours.

But when his verdict is read it will be the same, NOT guilty.

Face it America, the justice sytem in America has gone out the window.

They will ruin an honest man in a heartbeat or kill him, and they will protect the guilty.

Does America need a hero, a leader who is real, or do we need another global flood?

One of the alternate jurors made a statement that just astounded me. He said, “There wasn’t anything at the crime scene that we could connect to Casey Anthony.” Duh, how about the duct taped skeletal remains in a plastic bag of HER two year old child that they found her guilty of lying to police as to her whereabouts for six months.

Always remember, juries consist of people who are too stupid to figure out how to get out of jury duty.
