lol I thought I was the only one subject to mayo sandwiches. My husband use to talk about bacon grease sandwich’s he had as a kid....Todays kids are too picky when it comes to food...GG

I don’t know if you have read Reminisce magazine, but one of my favorite features is where people talk about what they ate as kids. One guy said that during the Depression, he ate lard sandwiches. He was so ashamed that he couldn’t trade lunches with the other kids because they’d find out just how poor his family was.

Ah, I remember bacon grease sandwiches via my great grandmother ... Circa late 1800’s. She also used to hand wash my brother’s jeans on a washboard in the sink!

She made Potato Soup lickity split with a potato and plain milk.

Baked a homemade cake or pie almost every day.
