Walter White has lived a hectic life since learning he has terminal lung cancer, then deciding to apply his skills as a high school chemistry teacher to cook and sell methamphetamine so that, after he's gone, his family will be provided for.
During the first three seasons of the AMC drama "Breaking Bad," Walt (played by series star Bryan Cranston) has grappled not only with cancer, but also with a Mexican drug cartel, his tormented wife, a brother-in-law who is a DEA agent, and his unstable partner in crime, Jesse Pinkman (co-star Aaron Paul), a past washout from Walter's chemistry class who had become a drug-abusing dealer.
Bleak, suspenseful, shocking and, at times, bitterly funny, "Breaking Bad" has charted the transformation of Walt from a middle-class Albuquerque, N.M., milquetoast to a dark virtuoso of the crystal-meth game. His cancer seems less of a threat these days, but he regularly faces other perils. Meanwhile, thanks to the genius of this series, viewers root for Walt to escape each close call, despite his growing villainy.
"Breaking Bad" begins its fourth season Sunday at 10 p.m. EDT, and, further upping the ante, future episodes pit Walt, mano a mano, against his most formidable opponent yet: big-time drug boss Gustavo "Gus" Fring.

The best show on TV.
I’m so glad S4 is starting. One of the best shows on TV.
Love this show. Should be a guilty pleasure but somehow I don’t feel guilty.
I like the show quite a bit, but it certainly isn’t the best show on TV, IMO. But whatever...I’m looking forward to this season.
And tomorrow night is the series finale of Friday Night Lights, still one of the best shows on TV.
Season 1 and 2 were outstanding, season 3 a little less so.
Season 1 and 2 were SO GOOD it was hard to keep it up for season 3 (I bet no one expected Walt to live that long)
now that he has... it was probably getting harder to fuind situations to put him into.
Although I am not glad they took a break- I hope they used it well. I am SO looking forward to it
I liked the show, and I like the old movies on AMC, but having to watch more commercials then the movie at the moment is getting old, Oh well I guess you can’t have everything, will probably start watching it again Sunday night.
Excellent show. I didn’t start watching it when it first came on so I had to catch up on line, but it such a great premise. Doing bad for the right reasons is still bad.
I love it that the drug lord looks like Obama and of course words to live by. “Better Call Saul!”
Watched the first four or five episodes and just didn’t like it.
I love the show, it’s the second best show on TV. Top Gear (British version) is the best.
Great show, but Walt needs to start being cool to Jesse. Mentor him instead of always lecturing him and being a dick.
I’ll start FNL in the fall. I’m overseas and rely on waiting for the shows to hit disk.
Looking forward to Mad Men in Jan 2012 too.
Season 3 was stop and go. Too much blah blah and not enough bang bang. But the bang bang it did have was excellent.
I only watched a few episodes and was very uncomfortable with the morals. Which is weird because I love Dexter.
Breaking Bad just swept the 2014 Emmys. Best Actor for Brian Cranston, Best Supporting Actor for Aaron Paul, and Best Supporting Actress for Anna Gunn. It topped the night off by winning Best Drama. It was a great series. Too bad it had to come to an end.
