I agree with you. Westerners are in large part in denial when it comes to demonization. I remember that actor not that long ago. Sometime last year I think it was. He was riding home on the subway in NY and he said suddenly he felt very powerful. He went home and stabbed his mother several times she died. She was also a Christian born again and a prayer warrior if I remember correctly. I can't remember who the actor was. And I think about the guy who killed all those Amish school kids.

You can see the possession in Hitlers eyes and Charles Mansons.

LORD, you sympathize with this family’s sufferings. You experienced firsthand the worst and vilest of human cruelty when you, the most innocent man to have ever lived, died the slow death of a criminal when you were murdered on a cross. LORD, please illuminate the comfort, hope, and truth inherent in the blood You shed, and in the day You rose from the dead: conquering death, conquering sin, and bringing light to all who dwell in the depths of blackest darkness. Your ways are mysterious and Your thoughts are not our thoughts, but You promise “All things work together for good” for those who love You. May this man’s family and friends come to know the fullness of your promises and that You are a God who will bring beauty out of ugliness and pain. You are a GOD of purposes, not senselessness. Demon possession...

One thing that has struck me for quite awhile, is how many murders and serial killers who later came to faith in Christ believed that they were demon possessed when they were killing.

David Berkowitz, Henry Lee Lucas, Jeffery Dahmer, and several of the Manson family members.

I also had a family member murdered- I think it is also very hard to live with the idea that it didn’t have to happen. It is not the same as if they had incurable cancer or even an accidental death such as a car wreck. It is just so senseless it hurts even more I think.

Outlaw Woman, this thread is a great idea. I hope that it helps midcop and the rest of his family to know they’re in the prayers of many FReepers.

I have family in Michigan who were not able to join the organized searches, but they were keeping an eye out for any information that might help.

I read quite a few posts at other sites from people who knew Seth. They all had such wonderful things to say about him. He was obviously highly respected and loved.
