Tragic, and it also angers me. It angers me that these fools ignored the warnings. I've been to Yosemite many times and I've seen this time and time again. At the base of Yosemite water falls are a large group of rocks that are off limits. There are signs stating that fatal accidents occur yearly on these rocks. And yet there are people climbing all over these rocks. And I've seen people climbing all over these rocks with their children. That's how stupid and foolish many people are. These people should be arrested and charged with child endangerment. Tragic nonetheless.

Reminds me of the entrance to the cave at Silver Springs, FL: it’s a cavern dive that leads to a cave, and there’s a sign that says, “This is a cave in which 18 divers have died. Do not enter without proper equipment”. When I was there, the 18 was marked out in nail polish and “19” was painted next to it.

Chilling - cured me of any desire to go in.

I go hiking in the Red River Gorge here in Kentucky and am awed by the spires, arches, cliffs, and other phenominal rock formations, but I'm also awed by the sheer stupidity of other visitors. In an average year at least two people die, nine are critically injured, and forty others suffer lesser injuries from falls off the cliffs.

The stupidity of some people just never ceases to amaze me. The guy who was mauled by a black bear in the Gorge last year was hiking alone and is fortunate that his family and other hikers heard his screams and came to his rescue. There are just certain things that you don't do, and fools will often find these things and try to press their luck.

I’ve climbed those rocks at the base, no problem if you’re careful.

Vernal, on the other hand, scared the crap out of me, I would never go over that guardrail!
