Because the screens said something about “auto-excerpt”, I over-focused on that term and ignored what should have been obvious — that no text had been removed from the article, just the paragraph breaks.
They conked the young man’s head hard enough he seems to have lost all short term memory of the incident — only the video gives testimony to what happened. Concrete curb corners used as impact points are deadly to humans. They are lucky he’s alive.
I hope the beaten cadet gets all her money.
I hope he cleans her out, and leaves nothing for her heirs but a memory. A very bad memory.
I’d tell West Point to pack it! There are plenty of great Senior Military Colleges that he could attend: The Virginia Military Institute(VMI),located in Lexington, Virginia, Texas A&M University College Station, Texas, The Citadel, The Military College of Charleston,South Carolina, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Blacksburg,VA.,and North Georgia College and State University Dahlonega, Georgia. And his education would be better!
I watched a couple of times and thought the same. Who would have thought one was a woman. I hope he sues the pants off of them.
Not to mention Norwich, up in VT (yeah, yeah), which was founded by a former West Point professor who felt WP wasn’t tough enough.
The worst part of this fiasco was watching the once-proud West Point fold like a cheap suit and abandon their cadet at the first racially-charged libel from LaBelle’s lawyers.
Something like The Old Sea Hag or something

..is there no update?
Not that I am aware of. When I saw the story about a cadet who died at West Point recently, it reminded me to look for an update on the now ex-Cadet King saga. I was happy to see that charges against Team LaBelle were issued, unhappy to see that they seem to have been issued fecklessly, and surprised to learn of the fecklessness of the service of the charges from the mouth of a 62 year old female hairdresser who was charged without being aware of it.
Who-Hoo! I hope this story gets the light of day now. What really happened such that the Army academy, West Point, fired a cadet over all this, yet, it seems he was the victim.
LaBelle is countersuing
As I doubt she's suing her own body guards, it appears the beast is suing the victim-and the labelle thing has *MUCH* deeper pockets, no doubt.
I doubt the victim will ever receive anything close to justice for his ordeal at the hands of those hired thugs. The countersuit is undoubtedly intended to frighten him into backing down. Best that can be hoped for is the cops are disciplined and the West Point bureaucrats reverse themselves.
Patti LaBelle performed at The Venue in the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind., July 16. Throughout her 14-song set, she humored the audience with stories and reminded her fans that she has been in the recording industry for over 50 years. The itals and bolds are mine, the capital B on Black is the original. Found via google.Sure, she forgot some of the lyrics to "Lady Marmalade" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow," but the recent BET Lifetime Achievement winner owned up to it and said she is only human. The finale was a roof-raising version of Michael Jackson's "Earth Song." She also left the packed crowd with a message to love each other regardless if we are Black or white or straight or gay.
