I'm wondering why the astronomers who discovered that little planet didn't have the courage to name it after some prominent football legend.
Lombardy would have been a great name for it. I can think of others.
Real astronomical objects in our solar system are named after either 1) the Roman appellations of Greek Gods or 2) synonyms for dirt.
Hawaiian Goddesses -- even those with heads or other body parts shaped like footballs -- have no place in this pantheon.
