I wish we could at our house, but our flag pole is such that we can not lower it properly. So nice that you can lower yours properly.

I believe in an instance like yours, a black "sash" can be affixed at the lower (or maybe it's upper) end of the flag. We both need to brush up on our flag ettiquette!
Here we go...."memorial streamer" at the top of the pole.

If you cannot lower the flag, it is proper etiquette to put a black ribbon above it.
