On this day of Huntsman threads: How Huntsman can break out from 1%... (vanity)
(vanity)

Posted on 09/04/2011 2:00:34 PM PDT by Cringing Negativism Network

OK we've had a couple Huntsman threads today, thought I'd add one before I give up on the guy entirely.

I propose a thread, to advise former US Ambassador to the People's Republic of China Jon Huntsman, how he can become popular and get his mojo.

Clearly the guy has some pretty strong experience as a former Governor, and Ambassador.

What I don't get from him, is any sort of ... well, cojones.

No rock-ribbed Yankee pride. No "America First", despite his international background.

It's quite disappointing. I propose honestly this bit of advice, and would welcome any other imput, which could propel Huntsman skyward - all the way up to 1.5% in the polls!!

Hire Donald Trump, and listen to him.

The guy gets it. Make RECIPROCAL trade, a campaign issue. Go gung-ho, 100% pro America. Over the top.

Anyone else care to try to explain to Hunstman why he's not winning over anyone by being a leftwing puppet?

I'd really like the guy to turn out to be something, other than what he's so far seemed to be.

(that would be: a rather unmotivating, milquetoast rino)

I bet if Romney and Perry both have major scandals and resign from the race, Huntsman might crack 2%. Otherwise, I don’t think so.

” a rather unmotivating, milquetoast rino”

The reality and the illusion are the same. He comes across as a bag of bi partisan platitudes without a core.

Romney is squeaky clean.. wont be any scandals there. I could see Perry getting hit with a crony capitalism scandal... or some truth come out of the gay rumors. We shall see...

I think he is a liberal stalking horse pushed to run to get a RINO to lose to Obama. He was being Heralded by the “no-labels” crowd like Jon Avlon. The media even tried to spin him as the guy that could beat Obama and the strongest candidate when he announced. No one is buying this and the party faithful saw what happened with John McCain and Bob Dole. Too much is at stake this year.

Run as a Democrat. People abandoning ship on Zero would jump onto him like a lifeboat.

Since he donned concrete shoes and joining the race, I heard him in a couple of interviews. If he had just one thing to say that ANYONE wanted too hear, he would still be at 1%. He's about as exciting as soggy puffed rice.

In bygone days I was a Duncan Hunter fan. At his peak that year he was about where Huntsman is today. The difference is, Hunter had a worthy message.

In the end, the vital thing for any candidate is to properly self assess. A smart one will realize he has nowhere to go but down. He can then gracefully withdraw.

If he's at 1% and wants to be really graceful he won't try to direct his two supporters from the caucus states toward anyone in particular.

He can’t get above 1%

He’s a retarded A-hole

A total and complete establishment Sycophant

And a lame lap dog for WrongKnee.

His only purpose is to help WrongKnee mitigate the so called Mormon Problem.

Dude needs to call it a day and go home

Huntsman .. ain’t going anywhere

Working for the enemy destroying the united states

He makes the excuse that he was trying to work from within but if he was actually being subversive to the Obama Administration, they would have never hired him and would have soon fired him.

I don’t buy it for a moment

Huntsman is a DOA Candidate.

I'd really like the guy to turn out to be something, other than what he's so far seemed to be.

Why? What motivates you to have any interest in this candidate that 99% of us have dismissed outright?

Huntsman’s tax plan is shockingly good, but I don’t believe he really believes in it. I don’t trust him.

Dude is a pretentious, condescending, jerk.

None of those qualities bother me by themselves but, when they are blatantly directly, by an obtuse and obdurate chump, in totem, then no one wants to be around an arrogant jerk.

Simple.

I am for a tougher US trade policy. Particularly with the PRC.

I see no candidates on either side of the aisle, who seem to even be aware of the issue.

Huntsman cannot but be aware of the importance of the absurd counter-productive stupidity which is called our “trade policy”.

I’d like to see him get militant about the issue.

A lot of Americans would pay a lot of attention, quickly, if he were to get off his pc duff and go Donald Trump on the issue.

Someone should. He would seem a natural.

I’m curious how his lapdog media and liberal advocates would respond if Huntsman went all Pat Buchanan.

That would merit some popcorn.

:D
