In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

e·pis·to·lar·y /[ih-pis-tl-er-ee] adjective
1. contained in or carried on by letters: an epistolary friendship.
2. of, pertaining to, or consisting of letters.

Example sentence:
First came his romantic epistolary novel, La Nouvelle Heloise, ou Lettres de deux amans, also entitled Julie, which he had begun in 1757.
--- Dave Edmonds, John Eidinow, Rousseau's Dog, 2006

Etymology:
1650–60; Latin epistolāris of, belonging to a letter

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

The Post Office’s revenues: epistolary
Cutting costs ain’t in their vocabulary
People now use The Net
To pay bills, chat, and yet
They don’t see candle makers as a corollary

(Or manufacturers of buggy whips, large console radios,
eight-track tape players, or manual typewriters)

oh the questioners were MORONS. LOVED the rick perry answer on the death penalty. and poor brian williams just in SHOCK over the palpable bloodlust in the audience made us LOAO! While i think he wasn’t particularly impressive otherwise, i thought he nailed that one. Newt was good on stomping the moderators.

I give them high marks for not spending an hour on evolution, dinosaurs, gay marriage, abortion, etc.

They benefit from my soft bigotry of low expectations when it comes to those ratlovers over at the MSM.

Yes, Perry was great on the death penalty question, being a Texas governor he was ready, and practiced for that one, and it showed.

Newt has been excellent the last two debates.

Cain improved his game from the last debate.

And I liked the Texas shootout or Longhorn grudge match or whatever we should be calling it.

Other than the drunken frat boys who are his fan base, i can’t imagine who thinks the crazy old coot has a legit place on that stage.
and Huntsman, good God man, that TIE! the MSM is clearly obsessed with him, he gets WAY too much airtime. and the fake/bake tan is ridic too.

and Tammy Bruce on twitter, ragging on Michele Bachmann for her hair. Could we BE more superficial? seriously, another sign of outofcontrol palinlust is the absolute vitriol directed to all other candidates, especially on stuff so trivial as appearance. One of the previous debates, Tammy went off on Michele for her false eyelashes. Good grief, i know she’s gone libertarian/conservative, but have ALL vestiges of her feminism gone that she would attack her on such stupid stuff?

You know for a minute there I thought you were referring to Newt, then I realized you meant Dr. Paul

I sort of liked the yellow tie, but there is something way creepy about Huntsman. He's like Romney minus the sincerity and seriousness.

That was catty and she shouldn’t do that. She should do more of this:

“HeyTammyBruce Tammy Bruce
Weird. With all the screaming at Palin to not run, why didn’t any of those people yell at Huntsman to stay out? Zzzzzz
13 hours ago “

No, it would be because they spend too much money on Personnel expenses - 85% compared to 35% for Fed Ex and 55% for UPS.

Dingy Harry Reid: "Have you heard about the 2 economists who figured out how to solve the European debt crisis? No, of course you haven't; no one else has either. Hahahaha!"

Zerobama: "Hahahahaha! That's a good one! You're epistolary!"

(...ducking smoothly...)

Yes, it has nothing to do with pensions and unions and unsustainable benefits. It’s all our fault. A+ for you.

Could somebody harness the muscle power that is required to lift the false eyelashes on Kimberly Guilfoyle each day on the 5? We wouldn’t need green energy or coal because those monsters are enormous and she flutters them constantly.

I’m glad that you posted this because I always thought that an epistolary was a fancy box where the Vatican stores the Letters of St. Paul. ;^)
