Personally, I’d rather have them rattling cans at the supermarket. Giving a buck is easier than conducting a transaction.
It’s the principle of the thing. You are teaching $ for nothing, which is bad. I still go back to the FallS Church HS band and choir coming to my door to ask for $ to go to Europe. i was incredulous. We pay $$$$tuition and $$$ every dime for my kids on any team to do ANYTHING, and you want me to give you $ for nothing? EARN IT, for heavens sake. have a bake sale, carwash etc.
