Will she do announce, for example, though a recorded VIDEO,
as an homage to Hillary! — and a secret signal to the PUMAs?

Before you pooh pooh the power of the PUMAs, you really ought to spend some time checking out the INTENSE folks over at the home of the "formerly pro-Hillary" now "pro-Palin" PUMAs, HillBuzz.org.

With regard to the subject of THIS thread, from hillbuzz.org:

Based on filing requirement deadlines as I understand them, Governor Palin technically has until November 11th at 5pm to announce her campaign for the presidency (this being the latest she could submit her paperwork and the $35,000 filing fee for the South Carolina primary, which is the earliest filing deadline of any of the caucuses or primaries that will determine the ultimate Republican nominee).

The Governor, however, has promised to let her supporters know her intentions definitively by the end of September.

One theory gaining increasing traction is that the Governor will announce on Constitution Day, which is September 17th.

Another theory is that she’ll announce her presidential run in Michigan.

If we can compile the Governor’s reported public schedule for September 17th and if she’ll be in Michigan that day, then chances are this will be the announcement.

A few things to consider:

(1) Word will get out that she is announcing in a certain place, because the Governor’s legions of supporters will want to be a part of it.  So, it will not be a mystery, and I presume it will be a large enough place to accommodate a huge crowd.

(2) September 17th is Constitution Day, and the theme of “Restoring our Respect for the Constitution” is a running theme in all of the Governor’s speeches lately, which indicates it will be a core tenet of her campaign.

(3) Michigan is a state Governor Palin and her husband Todd wanted to campaign aggressively in back in 2008, but Senator McCain gave up his presidential bid in September of that year, essentially deciding he didn’t want to beat Obama and be hated forever by the media for usurping the “historic and unprecedented first black president”.  In “Going Rogue”, the Governor’s first book, it’s abundantly clear she’s still irked by McCain’s decision to surrender Michigan without a fight. The last sentence of “Going Rogue”, in fact, talks about showing Piper the way to Michigan as a metaphor for never giving up the way McCain did.

(4) In the final episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”, a radio show in Alaska asked the Governor if she’s going to run for president and the Governor promised them, back in 2010, that when she makes a decision she’ll announce on the air with them. This, to me, means she’ll phone an announcement in to them and they’ll air it on their show, but it doesn’t mean the Governor will be in Alaska when she makes her announcement.

It just really seems like Governor Palin to announce in Michigan, and on September 17th.

But, honestly, I have to say that one of the great things about Governor Palin is that I seriously never know what she is going to do next.  She is completely in control of her own destiny and beholden to no one.  I also think she’s made excellent decisions in everything she’s done so far, so I trust her to keep doing that going forward.

I love that she’s not buckling to the arbitrary Karl Rove/agenda-driven media caterwauling that she has to announce on their timetable, when she has all the way until November to launch the campaign of her choosing.

We’ll all know her decision when she wants us to know (though I think she’s actually been running for President since 2008, and the longterm strategic work she’s done for her campaign will only become clear to most people in retrospect after she’s won the general election).

Run, Sarah Run!

Why would she do that? Hillary will probably run too.
