I think 24-7 news does much more to pave the way for e-coli than roads have. I'm sure people in the 30's dies from e-coli, but no one ever knew. Now some kid in Utah dies from a rare hamburger, or his own immune system weakness, and half the places I might go into will only cook their hamburgers medium-well or more. My own father ate RAW hamburger every week while I was growing up. (Cigarettes got him when he was 73. But he liked his cigarettes!)

I'm sure people in the 30's dies from e-coli, but no one ever knew.I think you're right. Someone croaks and they sober up Doc Jensen for long enough to fill out a death certificate and that's that.
