Thanks to Toldyou for this one!

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

YES

add it to their paychecks and tax it

and watch the marxists put themselves out of business.

Same with taxis and bellcaps.

Personally I do not eat out, and I don’t plan on being in SF, maybe for the rest of my life

As if people need another reason not to go out to eat. Charlie Chaplin shoe leather and a catchup bottle is where we’re going if these modern day Fascists keep getting their way.

My tip is based upon the quality of service they provide. I will not pay 25% for someone who fails to refill my water without my having to yell across the room for service.

I’m guessing that the places I frequent in SF’s Chinatown likely won’t go with this policy.

Don’t like openly gay behavior - stay out of the Castro district. I saw more openly gay couples walking around in Charleston WV than I have in the 3 times I’ve been to SF.

Actually the workers are supposed to claim ALL tips received - not just 15%. At a MINIMUM they must declare 15% of sales attributed to them.

So if they have 25% added to the check automatically that amount will be a direct line item on their W-2. They will enjoy with holding on their hourly pay PLUS the 25% “tip” that they receive.

So my guess is that they would net less on their paycheck and the taxing body would net more.

Since I have no desire to go there, I vote “yes”.

Last one out. Please turn off the lights so the conservatives in CA (all 2 or 3 of them) don’t have to suffer rolling black outs.

For myself, I still tip 10% if the service is good. I go over for exceptional service. I haven’t had a pay raise in 3 years and will NOT give others a pay raise until I get one.

Just who decides that a tip should be 15% anyway. The quality of service decides the tip.

That would be Jim Thompson and his brother. Who’s the third?

I voted “Yes”. I don’t ever intend to visit San Francisco ever again, so let them drive out the rest of the tourists and crash their economy.

Why wait for them to come into the restaurant? Simply add a 25% tip to city taxes based on one years average restaurant bill. To be distributed to the "servers" in the city.

That way if the cattle come into the restaurant or not, the leeches are getting a fair and equitable distribution of the communities wealth.

Considering the diseases probably carried by the deviant kitchen workers, driving off business is probably a benefit.

Poll is gone, I expect opinion was running heavily against. It’s a stupid idea for many reasons. First, tips are a reward, not an entitlement. Second, such a “tax” would result in fewer customers and less revenue. Third, that rate is ridiculously high.

That’s enough for now.

Me too. The liberals there are so happy to put people in office that cost me money it’s the least I can hope for to happen to them.

Here's a novel idea. How about paying them a straight (SF pun not intended) salary like the rest of us. If they do a good job, let the boss give them a raise or promotion. If they dump food on the customers, fire them. Why should I have to tip someone for doing their job? I don't get extra for being polite and performing my job duties.

This is socialism. Nothing more.

Shouldn’t surprise any of us.

Love San Francisco; despise San Franciscans.

25% !!!!!!!! LMAO

I leave a tip according to the service I received, from MY prospective.

Give me bad service and you get nothing. I leave very good tips, if the service is very good.

Nobody could ever give me 25% worth of service..... not legally. LOL
