Thank You Geeks! New Video Card

For those of you that tried so hard to help me get my 'onboard' video to work after my Nvidia 9800GT card took a dump .. I'm Ba-a-ac-k!

I never did get the onboard to work but today I got the GeForce210 card, installed it and .. I'm very happy with it!

Since I don't do any gaming or heavy video editing, this card seems to be just what I needed and it was only $60.00!

For those, like me that only want to do things like .. Spend all their time on Freerepublic and need to upgrade from their chipset (onboard graphics) or need a replacement card .. I highly recommend this card!

I play a Chinese Checkers game.

It is DOS. That has kept me from upgrading to Win7. It does run under WinXP.

I finally did get a Win7 laptop. If/When I upgrade the desktop, I may try to run the Chinese Checkers game under DosBox.

Well my 'Better Half' does play those Hoyle card games with the talking characters and the card works great on them! 8)

I may try some HULU videos later to see how they look but by the comments from others who have this card .. I should have no problems.

Mom, is that you? Sorry, my mom's 82 and plays card games on hers. She's very sensible and gets pleasure out of simple, inexpensive things, unlike me. I want the water and sailing ships to look like the real thing especially when the ships burn and finally blow up. Surprised it doesn't run under 7 since Windows seems like it's been getting more flexible as the versions progress. Many times I can't play older games because the video card is too advanced in the newer PC even though Windows would run it.

The 9800 was/is a good card. Looked long and hard at it, but went for the GTS250. Put your 210 to good use and help us Freepers fight cancer. Look at Folding@Home.....C

Battlefield 3 comes out in 5 days and all i got is this (now)lowly GTX260.

It seems like i just spent 200 bucks on this thing and it’s obsolete already.

My buddy just bought a GTX560 yesteday for 200 bucks.

I really would like a GTX580 myself except that i am currently broke at the moment.

Looks like i’ll be playing BF3 on low video settings until Christmas....
