Your assumption is that a vegan would backfill the lack of meat with a “triple size” salad. We don’t know this for a fact and I personally have have not backfilled lack of meat intake with a triple size salad or additional veggies/grains.

I’m not trying to get anyone to change their mind on eating meat, I’m just saying that there are some assumptions that vegetarians and vegans consume exponentially larger portions of veggies to make-up for the lack of meat. This isn’t necessarily true in all cases. Vegans I have met appear to barely eat enough to live, they are like waifs.

That’s true, I did assume that they would have to eat a lot more food in order to survive in anything resembling a healthy shape. You’re right though, most vegans aren’t healthy at all, so they probably are not chewing alfalfa all day like they aught to be.

Actually, since they will die sooner than meat eaters, they might actually kill fewer animals over their lifespan. I wonder why they don’t use that selling point?
