Open letter to Herman Cain (Vanity)
Fertile brain | 11/30/11 | Self

Posted on 11/30/2011 10:39:10 AM PST by Yaelle

Dear Herman Cain,

You have a lot of donating, dedicated supporters and I have been proud to call myself one. I'm becoming disappointed by you and I am not alone. As you think of how to go about campaigning through this partisan media onslaught, please listen to the supporters who wish they could vote for you, in the primaries as well as for President against Barack Obama.

If this latest slam against you, the 13-year sexual affair, is a total fabrication, please fight it vociferously today and have your attorney do the same. His response yesterday causes us to doubt that this accusation is 100% false.

If this accusation is even partially true, please realize that you, flawed, may still be a better choice for America than your opponents. But this would mean you still need to be honest with us. You do not need to explain your friendship with this woman. We do not need details ( though the MSM does, so please don't provide them). We need you to do two things.

First is to admit that you are flawed in this way. "Caused pain in my marriage" is how Clinton worded it; there are many ways to phrase it. Reiterate your goals for America, and make sure we know that your passion will be thusly focused during a Cain administration.

Second, you must, absolutely, draw public attention to the different way Democrat candidates are treated during such moments. On Free Republic, we learned about John Edwards's love child the moment the rabbit died, but the MSM did not give it a mention until the Enquirer had photos of him sneaking around a hotel to see the baby. For a year they protected a man who knocked up his mistress on the campaign trail while his wife was DYING of cancer. The media en masse locked down and protected him.

There are numerous other examples. There are affidavits and hard evidence regarding an alleged affair with Barack Obama, and we know he's on the 2012 ticket, but in 4 years the press has never investigated obama's alleged dalliance. There was so much that Clinton had been indiscreet about that you could fill a book. Yet the MSM defended him from all the accusations, including a 13-year-affair as well as actual rape. Your opponent Newt Gingrich has had a known six year affair while in high office. Do not go down without a clear challenge to the mainstream media to attempt any sort of fairness in reporting on these allegations.

I know that if you could come out strong and boldly on this issue, many of us will still back you.

Yours, Yaelle

Please, especially to my fellow Cain supporters, add points that you wish Mr. Cain could hear to help his decision-making at this crucial time in his campaign.

Herman Cain, if you are reading this, LISTEN to the heart of this matter. Your wife needs to tell us she knows about this relationship, and it was on the up and up, if there is MORE to come crawling out from under rocks you are hiding, PLEASE tell us now.

How much more “explaining” does Herman Cain need to do?

Dear Mr. Cain;

Please ignore all of those who are willing to believe in unsubstantiated accusations.

Do not give up the fight! Our country desperately needs you.

Sincerely,

trisham

Read my letter. He doesn’t need to explain, he needs to clarify his focus and to point out a discrepancy.

Mr. Cain, I support you.

Keep talking about the issues, and keep studying foreign policy. Yes, you will have advisers, but as president, the final decision will be yours, and you will have to rely on your gut. A deep, philosophical understanding geopolitics will be essential.

Ronald Reagan had one, and it served him (and us) well.

I wanted Cain to laugh it off, with no serious interviews or expensive lawyers perched over him. I wanted him to answer the MSMs stupid questions with replies like:

“You had to look back 15 years in my past to find someone to talk bad about me? Wow! That is great!”

or

“Good morning! Did anyone new accuse me of sexually harrasing them today?”

or

“I am sorry that this group of women are having financial difficulties and I sincerly hope that they are paid very well for their stories. I wish them well!”

or

“I have always deeply respected and admired the women I have been lucky enough to work with. I would never try to Clinton or Anthony Weiner anyone.”

Keep your stupid letter to yourself.

Have you considered the possibility that he is hesitant to defend himself because:
- it may be perceived as an attack on a poor unemployed single mother?
- and as such, is a set-up?
- or he is weighing the need to take this lying woman to court, and thus destroy the life of a (former) friend)?
- he is allowing other to find evidence against her ridiculous claims, thus keeping his hands clean?

Please ignore all of those who are willing to believe in unsubstantiated accusations.

Phone records showing 61 texts and calls between Cain & White - up until last week - are proof enough for most people.

I love your neutralizing the Alinskying with humor. Great idea. Sincerity first, then a dash of humor.

Why is it stupid? I’m not asking him to defend himself unless it’s a total lie, in which case everyone is legally able to defend himself. It’s hard for Mr. Cain to know what his supporters feel they need right now. Add to the letter and let him know what you need him to do or say.

Mr. Cain, we especially need not to let the left / the MSM choose our candidates. Since they have nothing to do on their side in this election, all of their energies are focused on eliminating the candidates they perceive as a threat.

Please only drop out if you have behaved too foolishly for us to get over. Stay and fight otherwise. It’s not fair that Clinton and Obama can be president and their peccadillos overlooked.

Why is it stupid?

“I’m becoming disappointed by you and I am not alone...” => Disappointment from supporters is NOT what he needs to hear right now.

“If this latest slam against you...” => If? IF?? I guess the MSM/DNC techniques have been successful in sowing doubt in his supporters.

“...please fight it vociferously today and have your attorney do the same...” => as noted in my previous post, this may not be the best course of action.

“If this accusation is even partially true, please realize that you, flawed..” => sigh.

“First is to admit that you are flawed in this way...” => This would be a serious mistake, both to his campaign and his marriage. Admit fault without proof?

“Second, you must, absolutely, draw public attention to the different way Democrat candidates are treated during such moments.”=> Barney Frank’s gay lover ran a gay brothel out of Barney Franks’s home. Robert Byrd was a recruiter for the KKK. Clinton sold military secrets to the Chinese for campaign contributons and raped a woman. Do you really think the MSM cares what democrats do???

“His response yesterday causes us to doubt that this accusation is 100% false.”

Speak for yourself. There is not a single doubt in my mind, even from the second I heard it, that it is 100% false. Why? Because I heard MRS. Cain speak about this woman on Greta and if SHE has no doubts, who am I to call her a liar?
The Cains, BOTH Cains, helped this woman. If YOU have doubts, that is on you.

I watched the interview on Anderson Cooper last night of the accuser’s attorney. Cooper asked the attorney if there was anymore evidence or witnesses forthcoming to substantiate the claims. Basically, the attorney said no. Then Cooper asked if the claims of vacations with Cain were true, were there any photos or ticket stubs to prove this. Again, the attorney said no. How in the world do you have a 13 year affair and have no witnesses, no photos, no letters. no ticket stubs..nothing!! A lot of people text friends that they don’t sleep with. And the texts themselves have not been made public. I’m beginning to believe Herman Cain.

I am proud of you posters on this thread. We must take our country back from professional politicians. They have been in charge since Eisenhower. The results are awful if you ask me. We need a Cain or Palin or even Trump type of person to drastically change the direction. Mitt or Newtor Perry ain’t going to change much, just tinker around the edges, and that will not save our younger generations. Although Perry is the better choice in those 3. Personally for me, it won’t matter who wins because I am happily retired. But I care more for the younger generations than myself.

My family and I still support you Mr. Cain. We keep you, your lovely wife and family in prayer. I don’t know how you prove innocense, but I would spend some money on investigators and I would have everything about your accusers out on the table. IF there is any part of this that you are guilty of..just admit and move on. I do not expect anyone to be perfect. I want you for president because I think you are an honest and honorable man. That’s all I want.

To others..Who are Jay Tribby, Natalie Hall, Kwanza Hall and AP writer Ray Henry? Why are they four of only twelve people signed up to Ginger White’s twitter?

The reason I ask is..they do not seem to be part of who she would be running around with. Their professions definitely do not jive. Just curious..just sayin’.

I was prepared to flame you when I read the headline and the first sentence, but I will not.

Even if the allegations against him are 100% true, he’s still a better candidate for POTUS than either of the “front-runners”.

In fact, it’s not even close. Nobody else in the field has accomplished more in private life. Cain’s patriotism, at least, is not in question. Loyalty to the Republic should be the first requirement for the job.
