Col West bio:

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (US Army, Retired) was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia and is third of four generations of military servicemen in his family.
His parents instilled in him a very basic principle, love of God and Country.
In 2004, when it was time to retire from more than twenty years of service in the US Army, he brought his wife and two young daughters to Broward County, Florida, where he taught high school for one year. He then returned to Afghanistan as an advisor to the Afghan army, an assignment he finished in November 2007.

Allen West received his Bachelors degree from University of Tennessee and Masters degree from Kansas State University, both in political science.
He also holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the US Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory and military operations.
“Education is the great equalizer,” he says. “With a good education, any child in America can live his dream.” Allen West knows that for our children to live their dreams, they need to be safe.
He has served in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was battalion commander for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and in Afghanistan, where he trained Afghan officers to take on the responsibility of securing their own country. In his Army career, Col.
West has been honored many times, including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with Valor), and a Valorous Unit Award. He received his valor award as a Captain in Desert Shield/Storm, was the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year in 1993, and was a Distinguished Honor Graduate III Corps Assault School.
He proudly wears the Army Master parachutist badge, Air Assault badge, Navy/Marine Corps parachutist insignia, Italian parachutist wings, and German proficiency badge (Bronze award).

Allen is an avid distance runner, a PADI Master certified SCUBA diver, motorcyclist, and attends Community Christian Church in Tamarac Florida. Excellence is a West family tradition. His wife, Angela, holds an MBA and PhD. and works as a financial planner. His oldest daughter, Aubrey, attends Archbishop McCarthy HS and his youngest daughter, Austen, attends Parkway Christian School.

Col. West was bounced out of the military for the aggressive 2003 interrogation of a civilian Iraqi police officer who was suspected of having information about an ambush on American soldiers. When the officer wouldn’t cough up information that would protect American lives, Col. West fired his pistol past the detainee’s head into a clearing barrel. It did not harm the detainee in any way, but frightened him into giving Col. West information about the planned attack.

Not only did this information enable the military to thwart this particular ambush, there were no further ambushes on U.S. forces in this area until Col. West was relieved of his leadership post.

Col. West was asked at his hearing if he would do it again. “If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.”

In other words, Col. West is a genuine American hero. He should have received another medal for his actions instead of being driven from the U.S. military.

Col. West was a highly decorated officer at the time of this incident, having earned the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters) in addition to numerous other awards and decorations.

People of merit are never going to step up...not when the conservative voters allow media-driven scandal mongering for any candidate who gains traction and threatens the establishment RINOs running the show.

If Allen West ran for president, we would soon learn that he had 15 year long affairs with 6 year olds.

No. Way too green.

Being a Lt. Colonel in the US Army, with substantial wartime and combat experience compensates quite a bit for being "way too green" in the world of electoral politics.

From Wikipedia:

While serving in Taji, Iraq, West received information from an intelligence specialist about a reported plot to ambush him and his men. The alleged plot reportedly involved Yahya Jhodri Hamoodi, a civilian Iraqi police officer. [...] Mr. Hamoodi was beaten by four soldiers from the 220th Field Artillery Battalion on the head and body. West then fired his pistol near Hamoodi's head, after which Hamoodi provided West with names and information, which Hamoodi later described as "meaningless information induced by fear and pain." [...] West said "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."

West was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. During a hearing held as part of an Article 32 investigation in November 2003, West stated, "I know the method I used was not right, but I wanted to take care of my soldiers." The charges were ultimately referred to an Article 15 proceeding rather than court-martial, at which West was fined $5,000. LTC West accepted the judgment and retired with full benefits in the summer of 2004.

Asked if he would act differently under similar circumstances again, West testified, "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can."

After Lieutenant Colonel West was relieved of his command, an interpreter employed by a private contractor said that without [West's] presence the region he previously oversaw "became more dangerous and chaotic".

Wow, West does sound solid on illegal immigration. I’m glad to know that. I’ve always liked him, but this raises him a few notches higher. A real “no nonsense” guy from the old school. That’s what our country needs more of, if there’s any hope of it surviving. Palin/West, indeed!

If we aren’t willing to believe in our own candidates, how can we expect anybody else to do so?

It'd be nice to have some worth believing in.

You’re right.

There isn’t one conservative candidate who is 100 percent conservative in all areas and there is a reason for that.

1. You cannot elect a perfect conservative as president. He has to be able to bring in some of the moderate support, so he has the numbers to pass his agenda. The key is to have the most conservative guy, who is still electable. Not even Reagan could pass your elitest conservative test.

2. The ability of a politician to be conservative is very much dependent upon the support he gets from his followers. If he feels like his job is on the line, for being imperfect, he’s going to make deals so he can keep his job. So if you want fearless politicians, you gotta give them reason to not be afraid.

A year ago, and several times since, a Palin/West was my call in several threads here on FR. That may be the best ticket to take down Obama, but Palin has pulled out any chances of running for President.

What can you tell us about him?

That was a stupid call at the time. Cain was ambushed by the dem powers and media.
That was bound to happen, and I just do not think he was ready for full contact political Roller Ball... no time limits or substitutions.
For Cain it was a losing game to start... far more than he and many others on our side ever foresaw or expected. It was a real shame.

We must keep our eye on the real prize (and the dems are not forgetting it by any means).. SCOTUS. Our country will not survive as a functioning republic if Obama can appoint the two justices (at least) that the next president will get to appoint.

All on Our side need to only vote SCOTUS for this election. The person does not matter, anybody but obama! We really need to keep our heads and rally around our presidential candidate.. WHO EVER THAT IS! We need to stop obama and the liberals who are seeing this election for what it is.

Control of our Republic as we have known it.

It is an ideal match up but the ammo to destroy them would come from our side as much as the LMSM and the Republican power brokers.
They would risk the party and the country to prevent it. Sadly Palin would stand on the side lines repeating over and over "I can do more work where I am working outside of the game".

Sadly, I think she will be saying that 10 years from now when our country is lost. She has "performance" issues.

Colonel West is most wonderful.

West is the only republican that seems to understand and be able to discuss our international situation. West and his wife would be so far above in character and natural patriotism than the Obamas as ‘first family’, think Death Valley and Mt. Everest.

Since Rubio has declared himself out of consideration for veep, I believe Chris Christie will be the eventual VP candidate.

I think any man that puts a pistol besides a terroist head and fires it and the terrorist squeals like a pig he’s capable of being President. I’d like to see him do that to Harry Reid. The only thing Obama could shoot is a staple gun.
