Islam is a “religion” which deceives people. Muslims are people who follow this dark religion, but some not to the degree of wanting to harm others.

When these people are born and raised into this, I think it would be very difficult to find their way out of it. I liken it to homosexuality - hate the sin, not the sinner.

Couldn’t disagree with you more. I think absent WTC 93 & 9/11 most Americans could care less about islam & muslims. Before the government decided we “needed” tons of muslim refugees and immigrants, islam was barely on the radar. The truth is, the combination of the above has awoken a lot of people to the fact that there is evil in the world and it wants to kill, convert or subjugate them regardless of what they or their governments have done or not done.

Where's the disagreement? I never said that BEFORE 9/11, we hated Muslims, or BEFORE we had such massive Muslim immigration to the US, we hated Muslims. Quite the opposite, the sympathy for "the plight of the Bosnian Muslims" and "the poor Kosovo Muslims" was overwhelming in this country, which was the reason so many got into the US in the first place, without the American public objecting. I am saying that since 9/11, we have learned to hate them -- and lying about that serves no purpose.

How does “smearing the bottom rung candidate help him?

I don't think that it was a smear -- I am very sure that he believes it to be true. What it did was give context to his statement to her in the debate about, "To declare war on 1.2 billion Muslims, and to say all Muslims are the same..." If he would have said to Romney or Gigrich, it would have been off-base. But he said as a response to Bachmann because he knows she hates Muslims. She lied (has repeatedly misstated in spite of repeatedly being corrected by the media) and baited him, and he fell into the trap in that debate with her. In the Leno interview, he just provided the context as to why he said what he said to her. That "bottom tier candidate" was not going to take him down. Can't blame him for that. He's in this to win.

How does this crazy old coot get the support he does? Is it the left giving him support just to make it look like the right is crazy?

Every election cycle there is a good 7% diehard libertarian whacko vote. A large percentage of these are single issue voters who want drugs legalized.

A lot of the rest are either liberals dissatisfied with Obama or republicans so fed up with the party they don't care where Paul is coming from.

Paul is right on budget and taxes in the same sense that a stopped clock is right twice a day.

But an average seven year old has a better grasp on foreign policy than Ron Paul.

As I posted elsewhere Ron Paul ought stick to comedy-i.e. Leno show. As for Me I could NOT support ANY American who desires to be President who thinks we can —or ought trust Islamists.
They have been at war with us since Columbus sailed past the towers of Alhambra in the City of Granada,Jan.2,1492.Only one
subject to Islamic Law would suggest we ought make nice with
the slaves of Allah. The US Army trusted Major Nidal Hasan and
his jihad murdered 14 innocent Americans. And our present Govt. calls it workplace violence —anything but Islamic Jihad.what difference is there between Ron Paul and Obama concerning Islam?

"She just got a zillion more votes"

Laughable.

She'll not win a single caucus or primary, ever.

Bigger question after he said this is why is he helping islam in any way in any form? Who in the world was he trying to impress with this?

Like it or not (which admittedly I don't), there 1.8 million Muslims in this country and they are Americans or on their way to being Americans. That's a fact we have to live with, because they aren't going away. So we have a few choices -- send them all back, which I'd have no problem with but you and I know is never going to happen -- treat them as a "special group" with outreach and all the BS jockeying for power and influence via CAIR -- or treat Amerian Muslims as simply "Americans" like anyone else, no special favors, no special status, no derision or exaltation to "victim" status, no special classrooms for Muslim prayer -- "You are just an ordinary American, act like it but go to jail if you commit a crime against us". The latter is what he is going for. Given we aren't going to do #1 and we've tried #2 and it hasn't worked, what other choice is there?

Likewise, there are Muslims in the world whether we like it or not, and unless we are up for a Crusade, then we have to deal with them diplomatically, too. Again, we aren't prepared to blow them off the map, so why antagonize them with rhetoric when it does no good?

I really don't think that he is like Carter and has ME funding, largely because he makes a point of cutting off foreign aid to "Israel's enemies too" (read "Muslim countries") Graft-ridden ME potentates would not be at all happy with that, so they wouldn't have much reason to support him if they aren't going to get anything out of it -- $$$ really is an even more powerful motivator than Israel-hatred to their leadership.

RonPaul was the liar. He thinks that Iran is all Muslims. Actually most Arab Muslims are Sunni and don’t want the Shia Iranians to get nukes.

Islam is a “religion” which deceives people.

No, Islam is a "fascist ideology" Masqurading as a religion in order to keep it's people submissive...Islam means submission.

From someone who was born into Islam, raised in an Islamic society, and now, as an ex-Muslim:

"The ultimate goal of Islam is to rule the world....democracy does not exist in any of the languages spoken by Muslims. “To understand a civilization,” “it is important to understand its vocabulary.... If it was not on their tongues it is likely that it was not on their minds either.”

Democracy implies equality. But equality is unacceptable in Islam. Un-believers cannot be equal to believers and women are not equal to men. Even the non-Muslims are not deemed to be equal.

“Islam is a religion of peace” is a preposterous slogan that is part of the strategy of the Islamic “Game of Deception”..... Islam does not mean peace, it does not preach peace, it has never been peaceful and it will never be..... Islam has advanced through aggressive militarism and regards Jihad and martyrdom as the most meritorious acts............... Islam is militant and imperialistic by its very nature.

Clearly Islamic system of government is fascistic:

• It is marked by centralization of authority under a supreme leader vested with divine clout.

• It has stringent socioeconomic control over all aspects of all its subjects ....(Important: irrespective of their faith).

• It suppresses its opposition through terror and censorship.

• It has a policy of belligerence towards non-believers.

• It practices religious apartheid...... It disdains reason....It is imperialistic.... It is oppressive.... It is dictatorial and It is controlling.

Islam, like fascism, appeals to people with low self esteem and low intelligence. Both these ideologies are irrational.... They disdain reason, and hail devotion and submission to a higher authority.... Like fascists, Muslims are triumphalists.... They seek power, domination and control..... They pride themselves in their strength of number, in their mindless heroism, in their disdain for life and in their willingness to kill and die for their cause.

Islam is political and political Islam is fascism".

This is not even close to homosexuality....which is a choice...one is not "born" homosexual....or born into it.

My explanation of my feelings toward the nazis wasn’t because I or my relatives were Jewish. It was because The nazis murdered them. Your pointing out that nonJews died at their hands is a non sequitur, while still true.

My point isn’t to lessen the impact the Holocaust had on the Jews of Europe. merely to remember all of it’s other victims too. That point is sometimes lost.

I do not forget it. I know how cruel the nazis were to gypsies, Christian scientists, gays, the elderly, the handicapped, etc. To people in general.

But I’d only bring your point up to someone overdoing it re Hitler and the Jews. All I did was mention how I feel about nazis because they killed personal members of my family. Equivalent to families of those killed aboard his flight hating Mohamed atta. I feel slightly hurt when people immediately hit me with all the nonJews hitler killed, when I didn’t mention Judaism. At best, your point was a non sequitur.

It’s like the whole hate crime thing. When your innocent loved one is murdered, it almost doesn’t matter why.
