Guys, I am looking to buy physical silver. Bars or Coins for TSHTF scenario.
I have dry food, Have guns , ammo, gear, cash, knives, water purification, library of books on TSHTF situations, have three months of water on hand etc.
I am looking to buy physical silver and have looked at a few websites and want to know the best way to do this? coins, bars?
Yep. Junk silver has ALL kinds of advantages...
1) It is currency, created by the US government.
2) Not likely to be counterfeited, since it in such small amounts.
3) Probably in your neighborhood at the antique store at reasonable prices
4) If you can buy it locally, you can often pay less, due to no shipping costs.
5) Inconspicuous, as it looks like ordinary change if you get the stuff that was made right before they quit making it out of silver.
6) Easy to price and buy. Go to coinflation.com and look up the values. It is updated in real time, so the price you get will be up to the minute. Print out your values and take them with you when you buy.
You might pay a little over the value you see on Coinflation, but considering you have no shipping, if your state sales tax is zero or reasonable, you can get the most bang for your buck that way.
We have friends and relatives in a nearby foreign country that is economically stable.
“They had a destination if they got away.”
Actually, many didn’t have a destination. Oftentimes, their goal was to stay one step ahead of the Nazis while trying to avoid the Russians as well.
And many times, their destination was blocked. Many Jews tried to go to Palestine but Britain rejected them. One of my aunts got to Palestine illegally, but her ship was sent to a camp in Mauritania for a few years.
Thanks!
I have gotten loads of stuff the last few years, water, camping gear, guns, ammo, tents, line, boots, tools, purification, dry food, Erc.
ow I am ready for physical commodities. Want to buy coins but not get ripped off.
Buy ammo. And, do it correctly.....I have a few friends who still don't get it, ie: when I ask, "how much ammo do you have on hand?" I get a few answers of : Got plenty, plus 14 guns in the closet. Have 3 or 4 boxes of 12 ga, a couple for my kids .410, couple of boxes each for my 6 rifles, and a bunch of partial boxes for all my hand guns. I tell them that's fine if they can stay in the house and shoot out the windows, B-U-T if they need to run outside and shoot from behind the car or garage, they may find themselves in the do-do. One can only carry a couple of long guns (of different calibers) and a couple of handguns while on the run, along with their ammo. You shoot up those 3 - 20 round boxes of .30/06, 4 boxes of 7mm, 3 boxes of .45 ACP and you no longer have 3 guns....just 3 clubs.
Designate one shotgun, one rifle and one handgun as your primary "social unrest" home defense weapons and load up on the ammo for them. Having 20 guns doesn't do you any good if all you have is a few rounds for each. Kinda hard to watch out the FRONT living room window where the armed looters are moving around and dig through the BACK bedroom closet for more ammo. ("I KNOW I have at least a half box of .270 somewhere from last deer season......where the hell is it ???").
If you can't afford lots of expensive high caliber ammo, get a few bricks of .22 ammo. 300 rounds flying out that window from your .22 rifle and pistol may not drop a 250 lb man, but a wound in the arm with a .22 will slow him down, take him off the attack and put HIM on defense. Plus, with a bucket of .22 ammo, your wife and kid can easily load one gun while you shot the other.
Don't forget magazines / clips. It's great that you have 1 EXTRA mag that came with your favorite deer rifle, B-U-T a total of 2 mags with only 5 rounds each isn't going to last long until you hear "click" and stop shooting to reload them. If you can't get oversize mags, get a sack full of the "regular" ones.
Good on you for that, wish you the best in everything.
Can't remember for sure, but I think that the Silver Eagles are guaranteed to be 1 oz. of silver. Their prices compared favorably with some of the other sites, plus they take Mastercard.
I also collect all the nickels I receive.
I think this time I won't be running.
Our local (small town)churches partner with the local food bank. I was on the food bank board many years ago.
If you take care of you and your family and your church, you will be able to be on the helping side of the churches food distribution instead of in a FEMA line.
Thanks.
My shop sells for cash. The owner is very professional & knowledgeable. He knows me but not my last name or address, and he does'nt want to know, I like it that way.
Holding 'junk' silver will give you small increments of value that is instantly identifiable as legit and could be easily spent in a SHTF scenario.
One oz rounds, 10 oz bars, 100 oz bars would be hard to 'spend' but will nicely store value in a more efficient way. A mix of both 'junk' silver and rounds/bars may be ideal.
Huh... I was not aware that the weight of a silver quarter was exactly the same as the weight of two-and-a-half silver dimes. Or that the weight of a silver half dollar was exactly equal to the weight of two silver quarters, and the weight of a silver dollar was exactly equal to the weight of ten silver dimes or four silver quarters. Etc.
Interesting..
Consider enough land at your bug out location to grow food too. If you buy silver or gold, it will keep pace with inflation to help pay your taxes and buy things you can not provide for your self.
I would rather have real silver or gold money than bars.
That's the one Ann Barnhardt uses according to her website.
I’m good on a,mo and guns, water, dry food, gear, etc. Now I want to direct extra cash to silver or gold. My financial advisor is not happy, bit I really don’t feel great about sending more money to my SEP.
Exactly. That is my thought. I live in NYC and am looking for that contact though. Beliefpve it or not I have full carry in NYS but it is not valid in NYC.
I have the gear to survive an Obamageddon for six months at least. I m now looking for physical refuge. I have SEP that the advisor wants me to dump cash n to bit I want to spend it on physical silver or gold as I no longer gave trust in anything.
That's probably Apmex, and they're about as good as it gets. I've used them several times. Before that tragic boating accident, that is.
Her last clip made me almost crap my pants.
