The above coin, which I photographed in its plastic container, was sent to me by my daughter who works in Saudi Arabia. She says that this is what Saudis give to each other as gifts.
I know some Freepers have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia and may know more about this coin.
I believe the inscription says "There is but one God and Allah is his name"
It weighs 1.41 oz or 40 grams more or less and is one and half inches in diameter.

Nope. Sure don’t. But the Saudis are gold freaks. The gals want it in case hubby divorces them as insurance against any subsequent poverty. The gold souks are amazing. The coin? Why not?
