How many games were in the NFL season when Marino played? If it was not 16, then Brees’s record does not mean that much for now. But I’m sure he has a few good seasons left in him.
16 games for Marino to make that record, 15 for Drew to break it.

Tom Brady has 4897 yards this season with one game to go. He can break Drew’s record if they sit drew out. I don’t see them benching Drew to rest him nor would he want to sit out. Hopefully Drew retains the record on Sunday.
