The more congested the area, the more self-centered people will be. They are stressed out and act that way. People living in low density rural areas tend to be a lot less stressed out and a bit slower living. Manners and courtesy get lost easier among stressed out inner city dwellers. That is true.

The greater point is that too many parents haven’t taught their children manners like sharing, waiting their turn, and politeness. All of my friends do, but there are many parents who don’t, and that has been going on a good couple of decades.

It is really sad as good manners and politeness and civility are fundamental to good society and living by the golden rule. It is one of those cultural aspects that separated the USA and most other Western nations from the Turd World backwaters.

Oh well. It was nice while it lasted and I’m grateful I lived through it for a while. Future children will live a lifetime without being exposed to courtesy and politeness.

Just sad.

Beyond that, all the vigilantism advocated by posters here is really shocking as well. Living by the golden rule takes away your ability for an “eye for an eye” retaliation. It may be satisfying temporarily, but it is NOT right.

I was taught “two wrongs don’t make a right”. In the context of all I said above, I don’t even hear saying like that any more. I grew up with a lot of good saying children aren’t taught anymore.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Forgive and forget.
Pride comes before a fall.
Virtue is its own reward.
God helps those who help themselves.
What profits a man if he gains the world but loses his soul.
