King Barack's Power Grab [Recess Appointments]
NY Post ^ | January 05, 2012

President Obama yesterday played a violent game of kickball with the US Constitution, making a number of high-level “recess” appointments — even though the Senate isn’t actually in recess.

He named former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Board, a nomination Republicans have been fighting. And then he named three new members of the pro-union activist National Labor Relations Board.

Presidents have the right to make temporary appointments when Congress is away from Washington, of course, and both parties have used that power.

But Obama is the first president to declare that he, and he alone, can decide whether the Senate — which must confirm his appointments — is actually meeting. In order to block recess appointments, the Senate intentionally has been holding pro forma sessions every few days, each of which lasts only a few seconds. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — with then-Sen. Obama’s support — did the same thing in 2007 to block any recess appointments by President George W. Bush.

Another example of Obama treating the Constitution like toilet paper.

Please pick up the house phone... America on line 1.

I've got electric light,
And I've got second sight,
I've got amazing powers of observation.
And that is how I know,
When I try to get through,
On the telephone to you...
There'll be nobody home.

I expect the Muslim Marxist to show his contempt for the Constitution and the American people. Thats why we desperately need a candidate who can appeal to enough swing voters and even some Democrats to send him back to Kenya next November.

What really pisses me off is the complete lack of response by the Republican party in DC to Obama’s illegal usurpation of congressional power. Do these guys volunteer for castration as part of the oath of office? And the RNC wonders why I refuse to contribute when I get their annoying fundraising calls.

Another indication of desperation on Obama’s part.

This is about the fact that donations are hard to come by right now for the One.

Remember, he’s a community organizer, a shakedown artist.

He’s in a hurry to get this appointment in place in order to begin the shakedown of the industries potentially affected. Protection money on the way soon.

“Give me a campaign donation and we’ll leave your company out of the pinch we’re going to put on your industry”.

Obaba arms Mexican gangs and thus is accomplice to the murders. Obaba routinely violates laws like a bandit. Scratch a Dem, find a criminal. But our system is not set up to do much when criminals rule.

Uh-oh. Obama has done it now. He's made Mitch and Boner very, very angry...so angry that they're now prepared to......well, be very, very angry.

I’ve said it before.

The republican establishment does NOT want to be in power. Then they have to do things, be held accountable.

They want the perks and NONE of the responsibility.

Imagine if George Bush had done this...the impeachment process would have started the next day and the MSM would have compared this to Hitler’s putsch. With Obama there is next to nothing in the MSM and the Republican eunuchs are cowering in the corner.

Not sure if it’s possible, but if it is — the appropriate Republican congressional response to this (at least in the House) should be to completely and totally “de-fund” both the National Labor Relations board and the Comsumer Financial Protection board.

No money for them. Nothing. Nada.
No pay for the unconstitutional appointees — no pay for ANYONE in those agencies.

That’ll send a message....

All funds must issue from the House. The House is overwhelmingly Republican. This could stick — IF the Pubbies there wanted it so. (Aside, my guess is they are too cowardly to attempt such an action.)

Comsumer Financial Protection board is under the fed and is self finacing, they can't defund it. It will be funded by fees leaved by the fed, ripe for politcal abuse and shake downs.

Someone pointed out yesterday that the Consumer Financial Protection Board is self-funding—which is a constitutional outrage in itself, a blatant violation of the “separation of powers” idea.
