Paula’s big fat secret TV chef famous for Southern-fried decadence to reveal she has diabetes
The Daily ^ | FRIDAY, JANUARY 13, 2012

Paula Deen — the queen of high-calorie, Southern cooking — is about to come clean and confess that she can’t eat her own dishes anymore because she has diabetes.

The Georgia-born chef — a Food Network star who has written five best-selling cookbooks — has been trying to keep her condition a secret, even after the National Enquirer reported in April that she has Type 2 diabetes, which is often associated with fatty foods and obesity.

Sources say Deen, 64, who never addressed the diabetes question, has worked out a multimillion-dollar deal to be the spokeswoman for a pharmaceutical company and endorse the drug she is taking.

Most of the diabetics I know are genetically disposed...in fact all of them are.

Rachel Ray must be eating Paula’s cooking. It’s the only way to explain Ray’s weight because her recipes are lousy.

So she’s now promoting a drug that is used to cure a condition that is caused by the type of foods she has been teaching people how to prepare?

I’d have more respect for her if she revamped her show to teach people how to cook meals that don’t lead to diabetes.

I think her food may be delicious, but just about every recipe is unhealthy.

My wife and I were hosted by a true, southern-fried couple for dinner a couple of months ago - my arteries are still recovering from that meal...

“So she’s now promoting a drug that is used to cure a condition that is caused by the type of foods she has been teaching people how to prepare?”

Looks like Paula will be working both sides or the fence, much like a drug dealer that would sell both heroin and methadone or a pharmacy that only sold cigarettes and cancer medication.

The National Enquirer?

They’re right about this
AND they were right about “Bath-House Barry”.

So What??? over 60% of Americans have some sort of diabetes. It is not only Paula’s cooking but all of the fast food places that provide high fat food. You know what the American People love it.

My husband is 145 lbs and has Type 2 diabetes and has always eaten very healthily. Sometimes it isn’t about the food or the weight. And sometimes the diabetes causes weight gain as well since the body can’t process sugar/starch.

I agree. But what irks me most about Paula is the way she really lays it on with the Soouuuuuthern lingo

A little bit of that goes a long way and I think she consciously exaggerates the drawl, too...y'all!!!!

Like there's something wrong with that.

I don’t indulge in KFC type meals everyday...and don’t know anyone else who does either. Paula’s a good cook and a good girl. Don’t make her one of Moochele’s victims.

I was just stating a fact. The poster said Paula needed to have a show featuring healthier food.

Her son has such a show.

As far as I am concerned, people can eat what they want. I am not the food police.

"Paula Deen's "brunch burger" uses a donut instead of a bun."

If more Americans embraced Paula Deen's cooking, this country would save billions in social security and pension payments.

I did not write the article.

But, we will see if it is true if Paula Deen starts peddling diabetes medication.

I lived in Virgina for a year. I remember asking my boss, a Professional Civil Engineer....You really learned to say y'all in school? I was flabberghasted that these educated people spoke "backwoods speech". And these southerners were quite rude to New Yorkers.

What was even more interesting was that the blacks that I met spoke proper English and were very kind.
