It sounded like it derailed later.
Like a sniper—ROFL!
I'm clicking "like" even before the song is finished.
Her song is Jimi Hendrix's "Bold As Love". And there's a guitar player on stage who sounds reasonably like Hendrix. This is great. She isn't trying to be anyone other than herself. And it works.
Steven: I love the Janis Joplin about you. But you gotta remember to pick songs that people know. You can't pick cherries with your back to the tree.
J-Lo: I know what Steven is saying, but you sleighed that song so hard it doesn't matter! One of the best singers in the competition.
Randy: For me it wasn't the right song for this time in the competition. Felt like you attacked the song. Felt like you were boxing with the song.
Jennifer squabbles with Randy. The audience cheers in J-Lo and Elise's favor.
The guitar player gets a special mention from Seacrest. I think he's in Elise's band. He played so well in rehearsal that they invited him to play during the show (I think that's what they said)
Is this a song? Just bunch of mushy Dave Matthews noise.
I'm not even listening to it.
Steven: Very entertaining, very off the wall. I think you found your niche. Nice going.
J-Lo: Pretty song. But a little too artsy. All of you have a shot to win, especially you, Phillip. There's a time and place for this kind of song, but this wasn't it.
Randy: I have to disagree to Jennifer. You showed your true colors once again. You are a true artist. I love that you show your artist side. P2 will always be P2. I love it, dude! Nice.
They praise Phillips for being true to himself, but criticize Elise for being true to herself.
