As a Giants' fan for many decades, here's how I would go about the strategery on both sides of the ball:

1) Do not run up the middle much---SF really tough there. Get some misdirection going and run off tackle and around end.
2) Slow their pass rush down with quick passes to Cruz across the middle and some screens
3) Use play action right from the beginning to actually set up the run

On defense, hit Smith early and often and on 1st and ten and 2nd and 3rd and short, put eight in the box to stop Gore.

Should be a great game, and good luck to both teams:

GO BLUE!!

Giants have a much better defense than the Saints therefore the miners will not score much. Giants win by 7

I know this isn't about New England, but I am posting this because I like to hear about what goes on in the heads and hearts of winners.

FOXBORO (CBS) – New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, speaking from Gillette Stadium on Friday, remembers back to when he first met Tom Brady. The 22-year-old Brady was just as confident as the 34-year-old version that takes the field every Sunday for the Patriots.

“I still have the image of Tom Brady coming down the old Foxboro stadium steps with that pizza box under his arm, a skinny beanpole, and when he introduced himself to me and said ‘Hi Mr. Kraft,’ he was about to say who he was, but I said ‘I know who you are, you’re Tom Brady. You’re our sixth round draft choice,’” recalled Kraft.

“And he looked me in the eye and he said ‘I’m the best decision this organization has ever made.’ It looks like he could be right.”

Giants win. YOu will have to run on the 9ers to loosen up their supremo secondary coverage. Run is exactly what the Giants can do better tnan anyone else. Eli is hot. With the running game giving him some openings to pass, he will do so, and he has some real game breaker receivers. NY is a VERY hot team right now.

Not to diminish the improved version of Alex Smith. This will be a close one. The Giants’ defense has stiffened greatly and should be able to barely contain the 9ers attack.

NY 10 SF 9

The Giants kicked the snot out of Green Bay, going away.
Had the Officiating been together the Packers would have been lucky to score 10. The game wasn’t as close as the 37 to 20 score would indicate.
If any team left it all out on the field it was the 9er’s.
The Giants can lose the game, but they won’t.
Big game experience pays big dividends in big games, and the Giants have that experience in spades.

Giants win , end of discussion

You have a 50% chance that your prediction will turn out to be correct.

Since he stomped his feet and cried that he was too good for San Diego when drafted, I can't abide little Eli Manning.

They may not win but in this game I'm for SF.

From Yahoo Sports:

Chad Ochocinco thought he had grown accustomed to Tom Brady’s intensity during the regular season, but he’s learned the last two weeks that Playoff Tom Brady is different.

“I was like, ‘Is Tom OK?’ You know, he’s intense, but this was like a whole new thing, man,” Ochocinco told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. “They were like, ‘It’s that time of the year, you just have to understand.’”

Chad Ochocinco says Brady has taken his intensity to a “different level” in the playoffs, but it’s always there. The sideline spat between Brady and offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien was par for the course.

“That was nothing. That stuff happens every day. Every . . . single . . . day,” Ochocinco said. “That’s what it’s like around here. Everybody is pushing for perfection and they’re pushing hard. I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole career.

“You understand why this team is where it is. . . . Tom is on you about the littlest things, that you were a step off where you should be or the angle is wrong or whatever it is. Really, he has me walking on eggshells and I haven’t done that since I was a rookie.”

I think you got the outcome and the score perfect.

It will be a bone breaker.

When you see the NY Giants’ defensive line milling around between plays with their hands resting on their hips, that’s when the Niners will start making big yardage on the ground.
